I have worked in the cycle trade for the last 20+years. I started as a apprentice mechanic and gained full NVQ Cytech qualifications. I then moved on to a more senior role which involved more bikes sales, combined with workshop management. This then progressed into managing a second shop for the company I worke
d for. Along the way I have gained extensive underpinning knowledge of a industry that has many constantly changing and evolving disciplines and technologies. A few years ago I also used to road race and time trial, however in recent years this has taken some what of a back seat due to family commitments. Mountain biking has always been a big part of my life too, I have competed in xc races and mountain bike orienteering competitions in the past with varying success. I have always ridden a mountain for fun, and have ridden at trail centres throughout wales, the peak district and in the French Alps. The Old Cog & Sprocket philosophy:
