Welcome to 2026, i hope that you all had a good start to the New Year and that you will be able to keep to all your resolutions.

In January all Thursdays pm and Saturday am sessions are a go apart from tomorrow due to the severe weather warning.

Just a reminder that for the Thursday evening sessions you would need a torch plus don't forget to dress up to the weather and warm. If there is a weather warning and depending on its severity, sessions might be cancelled or moved to a different venue.

Great session last night at Beverley Westwood . All dogs managed to overcome all the distractions including some very curious cows.

So last weekend I was up in Melrose on the Big Boarders with Fleur. We have done various trails in urban areas around the area. I am so proud of her as she overcame her fear of noises and worked through them. I learnt how to read her body language so much better and how blown scent can affect a dog trailing. It was also great to see other dogs trailing and different styles.

This is why I love mantrailing, as it increases confidence in dogs as it taps into their natural instincts

NB: As winter is upon us, I would like to remind you to take precautions for your dogs’ safety. Please ensure that they have plenty of water to drink and things to ensure that they can be warm in the car/van. Trails will be adapted but if the temperature gets too dangerous for the dogs, then the session will be cancelled.
Also, as nights are now pulling in, please ensure that you have a good head torch so that your hands are free to trail the dogs safely and for those that have dark coloured dogs a light to put on the dog to be visible to others.
