My second check in since I decided to drop weight after my strongman comps.
My weight had came down steadily, on the left I was 109.2kg, 17 stone 2 that was 15th march, on the right and bottom I’m now 102kg,16 stone as of today, 16 pounds or 7.2kg in 8 weeks.
I am delighted with how my weight has came down and I’ve managed to maintain my strength, still holding a very decent amount strength heading for ATHX, I’m now running my 5k around 28 mins but I know that will drop!
It’s not been easy as I’ve struggled with the calories deficit after eating around 4000 cals a day now being around 2200, but I’ve stuck with it, I’ve still been strength training 4 times a week, added in a 5k run and doing 2 kettlebell classes, also make sure I’m hitting 12500 steps per day and around 2-3 litres water.
So now the countdown to athx at end of June, weight goal is as close to 95kg and to be running sub 25 mins 5k, whilst maintaining a deadlift min 5 rep max of 200kg, squat 3 rep max of 200kg and a ohp 1 rep max of 100kg!
It’s gonna be tough but I love a challenge!
Massive thanks to my coach for his programming and adjustments for this old war horse! Keeping this 50 year old on track and being able to keep up with the young ones!
