MEET THE COACH!

We’re delighted to introduce Jenna Reid, the first of our two coaches who will be supporting sailors throughout the SLYS 2026! ⛵

With experience across a wide range of classes, including ILCAs, Fireflies, keelboats and GP14s, Jenna brings plenty of knowledge, energy and enthusiasm to the series.

Whether you’re new to racing or looking to take your sailing to the next level, Jenna will be on hand to provide advice, encouragement and support every step of the way.

The Youth Series is a fantastic opportunity to build skills, gain confidence, make new friends and enjoy great racing in a welcoming & competitive environment.

We’re seeking a coach to help grow the youth racing scene through structured, skill-building sessions. Coaching will be mainly shore-based, supporting sailors with boat setup and race prep.

Essential:
✔ RCL2
✔ 2+ seasons coaching
✔ Topper experience
✔ Own transport

Desirable:
• SI qualification
• 4+ seasons coaching
• Multi-class/event experience
• Towing licence

⛵ Season Starter Weekend Recap 🌦️

What a fantastic start to the 2026 Strangford Lough Youth Series! 🙌

A huge thank you to all the sailors for their energy, enthusiasm, and effort on and off the water and to parents for your continued support throughout the weekend 👏

Thanks to NI Sailing Team Coach Hammy Baker for sharing his expertise and helping our sailors develop their skills!

After experiencing all four seasons in one day on Saturday 🌦️💨, we unfortunately had to cancel racing on the final day, but safety always comes first.

Finally, a big thank you to (QYC) for hosting us and for such a warm welcome. Your support and facilities helped make the weekend a great success!

We’re already looking forward to the next event… see you all soon! ⛵✨

Our Season Starter Weekend is finally here!!😄

While the weather hasn’t exactly been on our side, we’re not letting that stop us. We’re all set and ready to make the absolute most of the conditions and kick off the season in true style! 💪

With a great atmosphere, plenty of time on the water, and a fantastic community, it’s shaping up to be a brilliant weekend regardless of what the forecast says. 🌦️
