Just £4.00 for the 2-hour session.

Please feel free to come along, we are a friendly and welcoming group for players of all levels and abilities. It's a fun and light-hearted session, open to all.

Hi all, we’re trying out a new court booking system and would like your feedback.

You can now use your mobile or desktop PC to make a booking.

Just click on on the 'supersaas.com' web link under 'Links' on our Facebook Home page. It will take you to a calendar, click on ‘Create reservation’ and follow the prompts to book either Court 1 or Court 2 (or both).

A great big thank you to all those who came along to our first Downham Market Squash & Racketball ‘Club Night’ on Monday. It was great to meet some new faces.

The Monday ‘Club Night’ sessions will continue to run every week from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Downham Market Squash Courts, located at the Sports Federation building on the Memorial Field.

A bargain at just £4 for the session.
Next session Monday 18th May.

We welcome players of all ages and abilities, we aim to make it fun for everyone. Freya Botting will be running the sessions and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

We hope you’ll keep coming on a regular basis, or as and when you can. Please feel free to invite anyone else you know, who you feel might like to join in the fun!

Exciting News!!! - Squash/Racketball Club Night:

Back in April 2025 we ran a short Squash/Racketball trial session to see if we could muster up some interest in getting a regular playing night going. Although things didn’t take off at that time, over the last few months we are encouraged by the number of new members joining our Facebook and WhatsApp groups.

With the warmer weather approaching and a great suggestion from Freya Botting, we’d like to see if we can re-kindle interest in getting a regular evening group/club session going.

Freya has very kindly offered to run the group/club sessions, and the proposal is as follows:

Day Monday Evenings - Starting Monday 11th May
Time 6pm to 8pm
Cost £4.00 for the session.

The courts will be unlocked so you won’t need an electronic key-fob to get in. Please bring your own rackets and balls.

The sessions are open to all but so that we can know numbers in advance, it would be great if those of you wishing to participate could message back and let us know if you plan to attend, everyone welcome.

Hi All, just a quick update.

After seeing our squash court facility looking a bit worse for wear recently I've had a bit of a spruce up over the last couple of days.

Both courts, the foyer area, changing rooms/toilet area have all been swept, cleaned and vacuumed. The main showers, ladies and referees changing room showers have been disinfected and mopped down. The toilets were absolutely filthy but are now disinfected, de-scaled and cleaned. The broken toilet seat in the 'ladies' changing room has been replaced. The second toilet in the ladies is currently out of order (flush mechanism not working). There is an 'Out Of Order' sign on the door.

Unfortunately we are not the only users of the changing rooms and toilets and some people just have no respect for other users or the facility itself. I'll try to keep an eye on things and maintain the cleanliness as best I can but if we all take responsibility for our own rubbish etc. that will be very helpful.

P.S. Hot water working in all the showers!

Hi All, Through a message from one of our lovely WhatsApp group members, it's come to my attention, that the squash court booking facility via the page, seems to have completely disappeared!

I've no idea how that happened or how to put it right but will investigate. I know the courts aren't used quite as much in the winter so hopefully it shouldn't present too much of a problem.

Until we come up with a workable solution I guess its going to be a case of 'first come, first served'. I'm sure we're all capable of applying a degree of tolerance should there be any potential clashes of court use...... Please be nice to each other 🥰

Happy New Year all.

Just a short message keep you up to date with the ongoing D Mkt Squash court issues. Court 2 - Currently still has no heating and 2 of the overhead fluorescent lighting units are not working. There is a notice on the door to remind anyone wanting to play.

We desperately want to resolve these problems and make further improvements but as you can imagine, it's all down to expenditure! Lee and I are in discussions with the Sports Federation Committee and Alive Downham Leisure to see if we can find a way to get the repairs done.

Fortunately the overhead heating and lighting on Court 1 are all still working ok, so that's the best court to book at the moment!

We'll keep you posted on any further developments.

Squash Court Shower Update:

I am happy to report that all of the showers are now working properly. That includes the shower in each of the two small changing rooms as well as the three showers in main, larger changing room. The pump room is currently dry (no more water leaking). Here’s hoping it will stay that way!

Just a reminder, please do not adjust any of the valves or switches in the pump room, they are set to enable the new pump to automatically turn on and off with the demand for water.

Following popular demand, the stock of electronic key-fobs for the Downham Market squash courts has been replenished. New key-fobs are now available from Downham Market Alive Leisure reception at a one-off cost of £10.00. They are pre-programmed and will enable court access 24/7.
