About Us

Dover Roadrunners AC is an athletics club concentrating on road running, led and run solely on a voluntary basis. Established in 2009, we are a cohesive group of members who are passionate about running. We currently meet twice a week, aiming to help you improve your running in a friendly atmosphere. Weekly Sessions

Weekly sessions are usually held on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Tuesdays: We

meet on a Tuesday evening at 6:15pm, usually for a hill or speed session. Venues can vary, so please keep an eye on our Events for each weeks meeting place. Thursdays: On a Thursday, we meet at 6pm in The Weights Room gym for a 6:15pm start. This is for a run, which is normally along the lines of 10k (6 miles). We have various speeds and will make sure all new members are made to feel welcome. They will be put in a group to suit their speed and ability. Club Guidelines

We strongly advise our members to refrain from wearing headphones for safety purposes. We also advise our members to wear high visibility gear in order to be safe. We work to a time limit and do not currently cater for absolute beginners. We do enter races as a club, and you can obtain Club Vests to wear for these events. Contact us for more information. Join the Club

The annual membership fee for Dover Roadrunners has been set at £40.00 per annum. Prospective new members can try up to 4 sessions free before deciding to join, at which point the membership fee will become due. This fee covers the 2 weekly sessions, entry into the inter-club summer relays and also your England Athletics Registration fee. If you are interested in joining, please contact Sylvia on [email protected] to arrange a meeting for a preliminary chat. Please also download and fill out our membership form (link below) and bring it with you to the meeting.http://doverroadrunners.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Personal-Details-Form.pdf

We welcome all runners. From those looking to train for races and PB's -
to those who want to meet other local runners in a safe, supportive and friendly environment.

TRAINING
We provide structured training sessions on Tuesdays at various seasonal venues around Dover including the Duke of York School running track.
SOCIAL
One of the biggest appeals for joining a running club is the social aspect and DRR pride themselves on being super friendly and the kings and queens of race buffets!
SUPPORT
Our leaders and members are all there to support each other. Whether that’s getting back into running from injury, fighting for that PB or simply being there for each other.
RACING
You might not think it’s for you but heading out on a weekend with a group of friends from the club is a great activity. We guarantee you’ll have fun regardless!
LOCAL
Living in this part of Kent is a blessing for a runner – from cliff top trails to long flat seafronts, we’ve got it all. Just be prepared for a hill or three along the way…
CHALLENGE
We love a running challenge and we’re always cooking up new ways to make running fun and enjoyable for our members.

This weekend we also had Club Member Gary Barnes complete the Samphire 100 Mile Endurance Run, hosted by Saxon, Viking and Normans. He ran 27 loops of Samphire Hoe in under 22 hours. He had great support from others in the Club who joined him on some of his loops. Well Done Gary 👏
