BMKR August Update...
I would like to start this newsletter by thanking all those drivers and officials that supported the July meeting. It was a very busy day both on the circuit and in race control.
The results from the meeting and current championship standing up to R6 can be viewed here:

The club championship now takes a break for a month and we concentrate on the biggest meeting of the year at Bayford Meadows. The 2024 Kent Cup run in memory of my great friend Gerard Cox who passed away just after Christmas. Maria and Piers at Project One have been instrumental in putting together a fantastic array of prizes, which will be on offer for this two-day meeting on August 17th/18th. There will be an optional practice day on Friday 16th August.
The format of the weekend will be practice on Saturday morning and qualifying in the afternoon. The qualifying session will be similar to F1 for all classes other than Bambino. All the drivers in each class will take part in Q1 then the top half of the grid will going through to Q2 to decide who takes pole position. Awards will be made to the Pole winners.
Sunday morning will see each class contest a Pre-Final before lunchtime when we will have a driver parade along the start finish line to meet our special guest party which will include the Mayor of Swale. The afternoon Grand Finals will be slightly longer than normal with the winners taking the coveted Kent Champion title.
Grids will be restricted to 24 karts per class (16 for Bambino)
The meeting will be a celebration of Gerard’s life and I hope you will join us to make it a meeting to remember.
As well as the action on the track we have arranged some static race car/car displays and some music on the patio area to add a little glitz to the weekend.
Please keep an eye on the Bayford Meadows social media over the next few weeks for further details of some of the special awards on offer.
In the meantime secure your place on the grid for the race of the year by visiting the club website at www.bmkr.co.uk
