Come along to tonight's winter talk at 8pm from Hengistbury Head Outdoors…

Something special is taking shape just along the headland. The much-loved former Marine Training Centre is being brought back to life as Hengistbury Head Outdoors (HHO), a community-owned hub for sailing, watersports, outdoor learning and wellbeing on both land and water. Thanks to a group of determined volunteers, a government grant, a 99-year lease and extraordinary community support, the renovation is now in its final phase ahead of reopening this spring. Future members will benefit from affordable access to watersports, community activities and a welcoming hub, while helping protect this unique site for future generations.

Come along to learn more about the exciting plans for HHO at Christchurch Sailing Club on 25th March.

Hear the story so far, learn whats coming next, and find out how sailors and local residents can be part of it.

A great weekend for CSC junior - Theo, at the ILCA Nationals in Warsash last weekend.

Read Theo’s write up below:

Competing at the ICLA National Open on 14th–15th March at Warsash was a fantastic experience.

With 69 sailors aged 14 –17 competing, the standard of sailing was truly excellent and it was great to be part of such a strong fleet.

The first day delivered three races in light and tricky winds, which made for some tactical sailing and close racing across the course. I was pleased to finish consistently mid-fleet (47, 30, 42) something I’m proud of considering I have only owned my boat for 8 months.

It was a fun day on the water and a great opportunity to test myself against some very talented sailors.

Unfortunately, the second day’s racing had to be cancelled due to high winds. Although it meant no further racing, the event was still a brilliant experience and I learned a lot from competing at this level.

I was very proud to be representing Christchurch Sailing Club at a national event and look forward to building on the experience at future events.

Theo (CSC juniors - age 14 -sailing an ILCA 4)
