Happy Christmas to everyone.
Happy Christmas everyone!
I cannot believe that Christmas is only a week away. I don’t know where the time has gone.
I would just like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
I would also like to thank everyone for their support over the last 12 months, especially my husband, fellow Committee members and the Trustees. I couldn’t do my job as Secretary without their moral support and guidance.
Thank you as ever to all our Range Officers and to Declan for organising the rotas for us. We couldn’t do what we do without you, and we are trying to get more members to train so that we can share out the duties more so that ROs can get a chance to shoot as well as look after the rest of us. If you know anyone interested, or anyone out there is interested in training as an RO, please let me know. Don’t forget we could also use an admin assistant for Allan on a guest day – you do not need to be an RO for that – just a willing helper to log people and take their money.
Next year, don’t forget to make sure your records are all up to date with the Club – not only the gun lists I keep banging on about, but also your personal information as the police double check what I have on the database against their records.
The police are also examining licences more carefully and, after the atrocities in Syndey this week, may well be thinking about tightening up their requirements. You need to show, via the range forms that you have used all your guns on at least 4 occasions on the Hill in a 12 month period, unless you have a valid reason. We also have to inform them of people that have not shot with the Club in the last 12 months. So, even if you are a deer stalker and never really attend the Club, you will need to pop up and see us a few times.
I am looking forward to seeing as many of you as can make it on 30th for the CGC Christmas party – don’t forget that you can do as little or as much as you like, but it would be lovely to see you. Due to family and work commitments (I’ve recently changed my job!) Andy and I can only really make it up on a Sunday, so we know quite a lot of faces of the Sunday shooters. We have 600 members and, although most people know me, I don’t know many of you. So, it would be nice to put a few more faces to names I see on the range forms.
Have a lovely one, whatever you are up to over the Christmas break.
