UHI Golf

UHI Golf Established in 2001, the BA (Hons) in Golf Management at North Highland College UHI was the first honours degree programme of its kind in the UK.

In 2015 we launched the BA (Hons) Professional Golf. This degree is delilvered in partnership with the PGA and provides students the opportunity to become PGA Professionals after graduation. The degree has won support from Jack Nicklaus, winner of a record 18 Major championships and Golf Monthly’s Golfer of the 20th Century, who has praised Dornoch’s role in developing education and promoting golf. Nicklaus said: “Royal Dornoch has such a rich history in the landscape of golf, but it also has a legacy in the development of the game, shaping both the next generation of golfers and the next generation of designers.

“I fully support the University of the Highlands and Islands, in association with Royal Dornoch, in their efforts to provide education within the golf industry and beyond. I hope you will agree it is in the best interest of the future of this great game.”

Why Study golf at UHI? We currently boast a 93% graduate employment record. The degrees are enhanced by strong industry links, an international internship programme and valuable field trips. We have a close relationship with and proximity to Royal Dornoch Golf Club.

Could golf help tackle dementia-related isolation? ⛳️

We recently hosted an Age and Dementia Inclusive Golf Forum at our Centre for Golf in Dornoch, exploring the growing evidence behind golf as a powerful tool for improving wellbeing, social connection and quality of life for people living with dementia.

The discussion highlighted how accessible, community-based activities can help reduce isolation while supporting both physical and mental health.
