🧱 Brick sessions are one of the most valuable tools in triathlon training — but they’re often overused or misunderstood.

The goal isn’t to stack on extra run miles. It’s to help your body adapt to the bike → run transition, settle quickly into form, and build efficiency when the legs feel heavy. 🦵 🔥

Short, controlled bricks give you everything you need without draining your run performance. Save the real run work for your structured run sessions — that’s where your speed, strength and endurance are built.

We’ll include a few bigger bricks closer to race day, but mainly for confidence, pacing practice and dialling in nutrition… not for fitness.

Lots of colds going around — so here’s the simple rule:

✅ You can train if symptoms are ABOVE the neck:
Runny nose, mild headache, sore throat.
Keep it easy: Z1–2, gentle spin, easy run, or technique swim.

❌ Do NOT train if symptoms are BELOW the neck:
Chest tightness, heavy cough, fever, body aches, raised resting HR.
Training here will delay recovery and make symptoms worse.

💡 Smart tip:
If symptoms improve after 24–48 hours, ease back in with short, easy sessions.
Your season won’t suffer from a few days off — but pushing through illness will.
