🌻We're officially in the Summer Holidays and if you are (or not!) at home with your child this Summer, here are some quick and easy Mindful Activities you could try - especially if the rain is permitting you to go outside and do anything fun!☔💧
1) 🌈Colour Hunt - treat this like a hide and seek game where you show your child the objects first and then they have to find them or show/make a colour wheel where they can collect all the colours to match to the wheel
* I've done this before related to nature and it made our walk very fun!
2) 👜What's in the bag? You might be going on holiday, visiting grandparents or working your way up to a special day out. Use this game as a way to fill your bag with objects that relate to that theme. Ask your child to pull them out one and one and have a discussion about how they think they are related
3) 🍼Sensory bottle - great for babies up to adults! Can be filled with a variety of objects of your child's choosing and used in the car as a screen free toy, sensory calm down, figgle toy or gift.
* If your worried about the lid coming loose you can also tape it shut but from my own experience this has never happened!
4) 🪴Brief beauty - whether your planting seeds to make a garden or veggie patch, cress is the quickest and easiest seed for children to grow (and quite resilient 🤪) it grows within a few days and children can sow, care for, snip and eat right from their windowsill!
5) 🕵♂️Scavenger hunt - again relate it to colours, textures, animals, emotions, food, numbers.
Get everyone involved!
