A huge congratulations to Layla, Talei, Sadie and Molly, who have all been selected to represent Dorset at the Swim England National County Team Championships 2026! 👏

The championships take place in Sheffield on 4 October, where the very best swimmers from counties across the country will come together to compete.

This selection is a fantastic recognition of the outstanding performances you all produced last season. To be selected to represent your county is a real honour and something you should all be incredibly proud of.

Swim England South West is delighted to announce that bookings are now open for the 2026–2027 Regional 14–16 Years Development Programme.

Following the success of the programme in 2025–2026, which saw around 160 athletes from across the region take part, the programme returns this season with an exciting new format, including a one-day development camp and a 2½-day residential camp.

🏊 THE 2026 SOUTH WEST SHORT COURSE WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS CONDITIONS ARE HERE! 🏊

We’re pleased to announce that the 2026 South West Short Course Winter Championships conditions are now available! 🎉

📅 6–8 November 2026
📍 Millfield School
🏅 Level 2 Licensed Meet
💷 £12 per event

The Championships will feature competition across 13/14, 15, 16 and 17+ age groups, with swimmers able to use qualifying times achieved at Level 1, 2 or 3 competitions during the qualifying window.

⏰ Entries close at midday on Monday 19 October 2026 — so make sure you check the conditions and get your entries in on time!

♿ Para swimming events will also be included as an integrated competition, with supplementary Para conditions available within the meet pack.

🏊‍♀️ Our Final Race at Nationals 2026 💚🤍

The curtain came down on this year's National Championships in Sheffield with Talei taking to the blocks for the 50m Backstroke Final.

After qualifying 9th from the heats, Talei returned to the pool determined to make every stroke count. She produced a fantastic swim, setting a new personal best and moving up the rankings to finish an outstanding 7th in England. 👏

What makes this result even more special is the journey behind it. Over the last two seasons, Talei has shown incredible commitment to her training, embracing every challenge along the way. Her improvement has been remarkable, and that steep performance curve has led her all the way to a National Final.

To step up under the pressure of a national championship, deliver a PB, and improve your placing is a brilliant achievement and the perfect way to round off your season.

Congratulations, Talei! This is so well deserved, and everyone at WDSC is incredibly proud of everything you've achieved. Enjoy the moment—you've earned it! 💚🤍💚🤍

Congratulations, Talei! 🏊‍♀️💚🤍

A fabulous heat swim from Talei this morning in the 50m Backstroke at the Swim England Summer Championships in Sheffield.

Clocking a time just outside her lifetime best, she secured 9th place and has qualified for this afternoon's final.

The 50m Backstroke Finals begin at 4:07pm today—slightly earlier than usual as it's the final day of competition.
