More fun in the sun today with our 3rd Annual Rusty Rackets Team Challenge, with teams from Dorchester, Verwood and Wareham taking part. It was great to see our adult players enjoying playing different opponents and having a good social. 23 players took part, which was our highest entry so far, with the standard of play being the best it has been, showing the good progress everyone is making. Congratulations to the Dorchester team who won for a third year running and a big well done to all the teams 🏅🎾👏

A fantastic standard of tennis was on show today at the Grand Finals of our Junior Club Championships at Purbeck Sports Centre. This brought together the top performers of our tournaments in Dorchester, Wareham and Verwood. It was so encouraging to see the level of improvement that the players have shown as a result of competing. Congratulations to the winners and a huge well done to all who took part 🎾👍🏅

Another very busy day of tennis today with our Junior Club Championships at Dorchester in the morning and Verwood in the afternoon. A total of 52 competitors took part in the two tournaments. A huge well done to everyone who played, it was great to see the players improve with every match. Some of our Red players were managing rallies of over 20 shots, the most they’ve ever done! Wonderful to see the enjoyment and buzz these kids got from competing 🤩🎾🏅

Just had a great week playing the Dorset County Closed Championships at West Hants. I’m over the moon to say that the Darragh comeback has continued in earnest with me winning the Over 45’s Men’s Singles. Whoop whoop 🏆🎾

Here are some pics from our Monster Smash Halloween Adult and Child doubles tournament a couple of weeks ago. A total of 11 pairs took part in the spooky afternoon of fun, all of whom went away with a prize. The winners of the Red event were Steve & Franco Howlett, while the Orange event was won by Rob & Tom Kirkpatrick. The spookiest dressed pair award was won by Paul & Taylor Richards.

Remember back on halloween 🦇 👻🎃? Dorset Tennis Academy ran our 4th Annual Monster Smash Adult & Child Doubles tournament with 50 players taking part!

We managed to capture some of the action shots on camera 📸 for you all to enjoy.

Top honours 🏆 were as follows...

Mini Red - overall winners 🥇 were Tom Kirkpatrick and his Dad, Rob who won all 5 of their matches. The spookiest 👻 outfit went to Charlie Hayes!

Orange event - overall winners 🥉 were Finley Ford and his Dad, Alex. The spookiest 👻 outfit went to Harvey Rankin and his mum, Lucia.

Green and Yellow combined event - overall winners 🥉 were Steve and Toby Dodd. The spookiest 👻 outfit went to Ethan Kirkpatrick and his Uncle James.

All players received some fantastic spooky prizes and a great time was had by all! 🦇🎃👻

SESSION 6: Control & Accuracy

Hi all,

Here's the sixth video in our series '10 ways to work on your tennis at home', which is 'Control & Accuracy'. It includes lots of exercises which will help you to improve your control of the ball and ability to hit it to different parts of the court, which is very important in tennis.
