Super One Series Race Report

A mixed weekend which we knew was going to be a challenge having never been to the track.

Saturday: I didn't have the best qualifying putting it P19
Heat 1 I made up 9 places finishing P10
Heat 2 finished P16 from P19
Final I made it to P8 where I was taken out putting me at the back of 24 drivers but a great drive gave me a finish of P12, disappointing as the pace was there but that's karting.

Sunday: qualifying P15
Heat 1 unfortunately a kart Infront cut out on the start line causing myself and my teammate to come together which left us at the back of 28 drivers. I managed to cross the line in P16.
Heat 2 was looking great until I made a mistake and span, came back again to finish P16.
Final, I made up a few places to cross the line P13 out of a 24 grid.

This week I head down south to Clay Pigeon Raceway for rounds 5 & 6 of the Super One Series

This will be a tough weekend for me as I've never visited the track before. But let's see what we can do.

Last minute decision sees us heading to Hooton Park circuit this weekend for some extra seat time. Getting ready for the next round of the Super One Series at GYG Karting next month!

Super One Series round 1&2 race report.

A weekend of ups (quite literally) and downs.

Round 1
Qually P7 - showing great pace
Heat 1 DNF - unfortunately I got driven over so that was the end of the heat for me.
Heat 2 P8 - still showing I had the pace to be easily in the top 10.
Final P11 - Due to the DNF I was starting back in P13, I didn't get the best of starts and dropped down a few places but managed to get back up to finish just outside the top 10.

Round 2
Qually P12 - wasn't great, I got stuck in no mans land and couldn't find the pace.
Heat 1 DNF - I got taken out again which ripped one side of my bk bumper off.
Heat 2 P11
Final P12 - started P14 and with a few incidents I ran out of time to gain anymore positions.

Lots learnt and looking forward to take on the next rounds at GYG.

Superone OPLATE race report:

A mix of ups and downs and ridiculous rain and sun!

I had good pace all weekend showing top 7 pace in the dry and P3 in wet practice. But a bad qually and penalties in heat 1 put me on the back foot for the rest of the weekend. I still managed a P12 overall but top 7 is what I was aiming for.

I'll be working on my qualifying this weekend as I learn there's more to it than getting on track and putting my foot down, I need to work on creating space so I'm not caught in traffic all session.
