Starting off with our usual Parkrun roundup, brilliant running from Paul Loveridge who got a great PB at Weymouth Parkrun. A special mention to Adam Woollard and Will Loates for being 2nd and 4th finishers respectively at The Great Field. Great running from all of you, well done!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

This weekend was marked by both the Purbeck 10K which is a DRRL race and the start of the Purbeck Trail series which kicked off with the very popular Coombe Keynes 10k. A busy weekend for some of our RIOTers, some of whom impressively took part in both!
Starting off with the Purbeck 10k, fantastic running from Graham Smith (who got an impressive course PB and 11th AG), Adam Woollard (18th overall finisher, 10th AG and 3rd fastest 10k), Michael Paulley (11th AG), Steve March, Tim Stephens (18th AG), Ollie Baker and our lovely RIOT ladies Sally Miller (10k PB, 3rd AG and 7th lady!) and Karen Mitchell (1st AG and 13th lady). Congratulations all, impressive efforts! A special mention to Izzie Sadler for kindly marshalling at this event.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

On Sunday, there was a great turn-out at the hot and sunny Coombe Keynes 10k and it was really lovely seeing so many of you there. There was once again some very impressive running from Adam Woollard (8th overall finisher in a sub-40 minutes time), Louise Fox (3rd lady), Bronwen Davison, Anne Saunders, Bella Lowis (for whom it was the first race in a while, and who we were delighted to see back in a RIOT top!), Jeremy Piggot, Ruth Hutchings, Izzie Sadler, Stephen Broad, Rob Davison, Rachel Jones, Emily Denton (19th lady), Virginie Morris (14th lady), George Peters, Karen Mitchell (1st AG and 7th lady), Graham Smith, Ollie Baker and Chris Monteith. Fantastic effort on a hot and tough trail race, well done everyone! Dorchester RIOT also came in 2nd place for the ladies team and 1st place for the Female Veterans team.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Very well done to Hugh Gorton for completing the challenging Maverick Trail Half marathon at an impressive pace.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Congratulations to Donna Graham and Tom Bennett for taking part in the Bustinskin Weymouth triathlon. Donna took part in the sprint distance and finished 3rd lady overall and 1st AG, whereas Tom completed the middle distance and finished 11th in his age group. Both put on an impressive performance across all three disciplines, well done!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Very well done to Dee Lewis, Anne Woodruff and Terri Goodchild who ran the Hoppit 10k in Hampshire near Kingsclere.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Congratulations to Clint Dance for completing the challenging Dragon Ride Sportive in Wales. Great effort Clint, well done!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Well done to Virginie Morris for completing the Studland Swimrun middle distance event and finishing in 2nd place mixed team.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Last but not least, well done to Rachel Slade for casually running at 10k PB earlier this week during a training run. Great effort Rachel, well done!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

(With great many thanks to Ken Hewitt for the Purbeck 10k and Coombe Keynes 10k photos).

Well done all, great efforts!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

A very special mention to Pieter Mostert who shared with us his experience of a new and unique Parkrun in which he participated at the weekend. It is at the old, abandoned Tempelhof airport in Berlin, which made history during the "Berlin Airlift" in 1948-49. According to Peter, it is a Parkrun with endless dimensions, a bit mad, but definitely unique and one to add to your bucket list! Thank you Peter for taking the time to share this, it sounds like a fantastic running experience!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Very well done to a muddy but smiling Polly Scott and her daughter Pippa who ran the Race for Life 5k, whereas Paul Loveridge took part in the 10k course. Well done both, brilliant running and great smiles at the end!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Congratulations to Evie Miller who completed the Kernowman Triathlon Olympic distance in Cornwall. Evie finished 18th lady and 12th AG after a very impressive and strong swim, cycle and run! Well done Evie!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Biggest of high-fives to Kai Daly who ran his first half marathon on Sunday: the Camelot Challenge in Sherborne. It was hillier than he had anticipated, but ran strong all the way to the end and was rewarded by a fantastic cake! Well done Kai on an awesome achievement!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Finally, well done to all who completed their summer Pasty run or walk, it was lovely to see you all having a chat and enjoying the views. Thank you very much to our club captain George Peters for organising this social event.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ“ธWith great many thanks and credits to the lovely DorsetBays, Nicholas Guppy, Malcolm Curtis, Claire Dunn and the Bridport Runners for the photos!๐Ÿ“ธ

Please note: there were a lot of you out there today, in front of and/or behind the scenes. The results page from TimingMonkeys and RIOTโ€™s Strava page were used to gather up all your lovely names, but due to the numbers involved, I just wanted to say sorry if anyone was missed, either in the lists above and/or the photo montage. Not everyone was in the group photo at the start, so I tried to include all of you, but Iโ€™ve probably failed or got the same person twice! Do share your own photo in the comments if Iโ€™ve accidentally left you out, and check out DorsetBaysโ€™ and Nicholas Guppyโ€™s pages as Iโ€™m sure youโ€™re bound to find several great photos of you in their albums. ๐Ÿ™

Over in Southampton both Tom Aindow and Anita Nixon ran incredibly strongly from start to finish and earned some brilliant marathon and half-marathon PBs respectively! Both Tom and Anita trained hard and have gone from strength to strength, Tom even overcoming an injury and some weeks off during his training. Anita managed to get a sub-2hour half-marathon time which was a big personal achievement, as well as striking a pose with Mahamed Mahamed, the second fastest British Marathoner! Well done both on two very impressive races!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Closer to home, very well done to Andy Mutter who took part in this yearโ€™s Pig Backyard Ultra on the Isle of Portland and managed over a marathon distance. This is only a few months after a hip replacement surgery and progressively returning back to running. Well done Andy, great effort!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
