Kart 2 faced a weekend of mixed results, but the speed was consistently outstanding. Practice sessions showed great promise, and that energy carried through the event.
In Race 1 qualifying, Richie quickly set a strong lap, securing a front-row start just a tenth shy of pole. Carlos started well but faced an early setback when a throttle spring broke, causing the throttle to stick through corners. He slipped back on the first lap and had to make an unscheduled pit stop after a red flag to fix the issue. Once repaired, Kart 2’s pace returned, and Richie jumped in for the driver change. He made an impressive comeback, navigating heavy traffic and engaging in a close battle with Kart 84. Over multiple laps, he gained positions, finishing 4th overall and 2nd in the Military Class.
Race 2 kicked off explosively. Richie aimed for pole with another strong qualifying lap but was edged out by Kart 150 with two laps remaining. A solid start saw Carlos follow behind Kart 150, but he was soon overtaken by rivals and lost some places. During the driver change, Kart 2 was unnecessarily held at the weighbridge, costing 10–15 seconds and dropping the team out of contention. Once Richie was back on track, he set a rapid pace, working to climb back through the field. With 30 minutes left, all pit stops were done, and the team was making gains. However, a red flag stopped the race early, and subsequent questionable penalties handed Kart 2 a four-lap penalty. This turned what looked like a promising result into a frustrating 21st overall and 14th in the Military Class.
Despite setbacks, the key highlight was the exceptional pace demonstrated by both the kart and drivers all weekend. The speed and performance remain strong, and Kart 2 heads into the next rounds with confidence. Focus now shifts to Forest Edge Kart Club, where the push continues.
