What are the aims in my classes?

Simple! To develop Strength, Flexibility & Balance and help future proof your body

Oh! And be FUNCTIONAL so we can do things we need to do!

We do this through:

Controlled - safe- strengthening exercises

Considered - gentle range of movement

Improving posture and balance

Developing awareness

There are many exercises we will never do in

class as they don’t satisfy the above criteria

I’m clear about what I’m delivering, are you clear about what you need?

Walking, as one of our most functional movements, it provides so much opportunity for our health & wellbeing. Recently I’ve been sharing some of the funny but helpful exercises do whilst walking

I call it …The Ministry of (funny) Pilates walks …

For: stretching the hip, chest, calf. Toning the shoulders arms, thighs and gluts Helping our posture, knees & balance

But wait!… why is there a picture of a stinging nettle ?

You may notice all my funny walks are out in nature … because walking can help our mental state as well as our bodies.

The next walk suggestion will be to help our mind & soul and will feature the humble stinging nettle

we have been contemplating these principles…

👏🏻 Focused breathing gets more air deeper into the lungs 360 degrees around & mobilises the ribs & thoracic spine

👏🏻 More movement of the ribcage helps posture, shoulders and breathing

👏🏻 Use the focused exhale to close the ribs
(especially useful tool during harder leg extension exercises)

👏🏻 Returning to the start position is not the end, but the opportunity to set up for the next move

Next 6 week Course starting on Monday

2nd Feb A few beginners places available

Movement and exercise… important for sure But AWARENESS makes such a difference In class..we practice ‘noticing’

Mindful Movement helps us continue to do the things we love to do (hiking the coastal paths 😍) - and other things we just need to do (eg hoovering 😩)

That’s my way of saying ‘take the opportunities that arise’ Sometimes we don’t notice opportunities because we are so busy pining what we don’t have (or what we’ve lost) we can’t see the opportunities around us

As the evenings draw in - the weather is less hospitable...this is a great opportunity to treat your body with some strengthening and release. De-stress and treat (gift) your mind & body in a different way to what the summer may have offered
