Upcoming Weekly training rides (including a cafe stop):
**changed to Saturday ** 4th February, 60 ish miles 8.00am - meeting at the top of the ridgeway

Sunday 12th February, 60 ish miles 8.30am - meeting at the top of the ridgeway

There will be weekly training rides for Wessex RC Members and those looking to join the club, we will be leaving from the top of Ridgeway, (what three words -> pelting.isolating.inquest).
These rides will be around 16+ mph average speed.
If you would like to join us on these rides, all we ask is that you:
- Arrive before setoff time
- Have working front and rear lights
- Are dressed appropriately for the weather
- Have appropriate spares and food for the distance
- Wear a Helmet
All rides are taken at your own risk, it is recommended to have a British Cycling membership for public liability.

Tomorrows Sunday Club ride is cancelled, with the forecast of -1°C throughout the night it is best that we call off the ride.

Hopefully the weather will be better for next weekends ride.

Club ride and Birthday celebrations

Last Sunday Wessex RC members met up for a relaxed road ride to celebrate Willie Kirkland 80th Birthday. Willie, the Chairmen of Wessex RC, became a member at the start of the cycling year in 1960 when he moved (with family) to Dorset from Glasgow! He started 'cycling' as a baby in the sidecar attached to his parents tandem. He also rode out and toured with the Glasgow CTC as well as riding with the Glasgow Road Club! So he's been involved in cycling for ever! Happy Birthday Will from all of us at Wessex RC – you have always represented our club impeccably even now you are no longer cycling. Always ready to support our club by volunteering your time both to the running of our amazing little club, through to manning the sign on table at many of our events over the years.

Thanks Willie, you are a legend and we all hope you had a great time celebrating with friends.

Please leave your birthday messages to Willie below, I know reads our Facebook updates and he would massively appreciate it.
