✨ Could you benefit from practising yin yoga? ✨

Yin yoga literally changed my life & I’m so passionate about sharing this practice with you!

In modern life, being busy is worn like a badge of honour. If you’re not busy, perhaps you label yourself as lazy. Perhaps you think you’re wasting time - I know this is how I used to feel, like doing nothing meant I was a failure.

Yin yoga taught me how wrong I was! It taught me how to be comfortable doing nothing. How to cultivate stillness in my body first, and then over time stillness in my mind. It taught me that it’s ok to sit with uncomfortable sensations, thoughts, feelings and not have to change them. It brought me a sense of peace and wellbeing that I had never experienced before.

When I teach yin, I weave in stories, poems and quotes that inspire me from many different philosophies and cultures. I try to share the wisdom that has enabled me to feel at home in my body, to trust my heart and to have some sense of control over my mind (choosing what I want to believe and what I want to ignore).

Yin yoga has helped me to walk through life with more compassion, more gentleness and more wonder and for that I’m truly grateful.

If you would like to join a class, I would love to connect with you there. Details on my website or drop me a message “YIN” below and I’ll be in touch.

Lots of love
Jeni xx

I had a realisation whilst wild camping over my birthday…I WANT to be the person who loves being adventurous & camping in wild and wonderful places…but if I’m really honest with myself I’m just not that person!!

I’m so glad I’ve done it, but the reality is…I am not a natural wild camper 😂😂 I don’t like sleeping on the floor (my body did not enjoy that!) and I get so cold overnight unless I pack dozens of layers (which I did). Carrying a heavy bag made the walk so much harder than walking with a small day backpack.

Being true to ourselves is so important and really the only way we can live a happy and fulfilling life ❤️

I LOVE the walking, doing handstands along the way, taking in the breathtaking scenery, the challenge of climbing up the big hills, al fresco dining, dipping my toes in the sea - these things all feel authentically me!

…so next time I do a walking adventure, I will be booking a b&b, having a comfy bed, a hot shower and taking a much smaller bag with me 😂

Have a great Sunday ☀️🙏

Could you benefit from slowing down?

When I first came across yin yoga, I found it incredibly hard to hold the poses for 2-5 minutes. I was trying to force the shapes and I didn’t really understand how to ‘let go’

I found the practice incredibly challenging in a way that I didn’t understand. It challenged me in a way that no other movement practice ever had. I realised that the challenge was much more about the mind than the body.

Now, yin yoga and other slower styles of yoga including meditation and pranayama are an essential part of my life and I am so incredibly grateful to have found these practices.

In a world where everything seems to be getting faster and there is such a strong emphasis on achieving and succeeding, yin yoga provides an antidote to this crazy pace of life.

In fact, it is the perfect way to step off the hamster wheel and say NO to the pressure we are often put under by ourselves, our family, friends, colleagues or society as a whole. To choose this moment. To choose slowing down. To choose peace over productivity.

Intrigued and want to know more?

I teach yin twice a week:

Wednesdays at 7.15-8.15pm - St George’s Church Hall in Fordington, Dorchester

Sundays 10.45-11.45am -

Book via GymCatch or send me a message and I can save you a spot ❤️

What a lovely start to the day…

So good to be back at meditation class with 🥰

We went for coffee after class and whilst in in Dorchester, a lovely man came over to our table and said have coffee on me next time, and left a gift voucher on the table for us.

A beautiful reminder that there is so much kindness in the world…and that we can be part of that wave by choosing to make random acts of kindness now and again ❤️

Happy Wednesday beautiful friends 😘

BUILDING CONFIDENCE

Sometimes building confidence requires stepping outside of what we know and being willing to fail.

Growth only happens when we give ourselves the chance to grow! The first step takes courage but the rewards on the other side of that are well worth it and help us to build resilience and confidence.

If you are ready to take the next step in your yoga practice, why not try my Level Up Vinyasa Flow class on Monday evenings at 7.15pm.

Flow through a variety of yoga poses with options given to show you how to progress in your practice. We explore poses including arm balances, binds, backbends & inversions but all offered in an accessible way so everyone can work within their own capabilities.

Interested? Drop me a comment below & I’ll send you the link to book, or you can book in using the GymCatch app.

Jeni 🙏
