Nellie Stagles School of Dance Still to this day, the Nellie Stagles School of Dance remains one of the largest and most successful schools in South Yorkshire.

“Nellie Stagles” is almost an institution and we have been part of the Towns cultural life since December 1936, when at the tender age of 17 Miss Stagles opened her dancing school. A young and slightly nervous Nellie opened the doors of her school in January 1937, at the Empire Ballroom, Hexthorpe. Up until her demise in 2007 (at the age of 87), her passion and desire for art of dance remained unc

hanged. Still to this day, the ‘Nellie Stagles School of Dance’ remains one of the largest and most successful schools in South Yorkshire and Doncaster's premier school of dance with hundreds of dedicated pupils attending dancing classes every week, now with thtree studios throughout Doncaster. The teachers and pupils alike work extremely hard, balancing hard work and dedication with a fun and caring learning environment. It is this balance that ensures we continue with our 100% success rate in all our I.D.T.A examinations.

As you all know, we break up from dancing for 2025 today to enjoy our well earned Christmas break.

What a fantastic and busy year we’ve all had!

On behalf of all the teachers we wish all our pupils (past and present) and all their families, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
