Fishub festival the last 2 days at the mighty Maver-Dynamite Hayfield Lakes
It's fishing its head off at the moment and with it being my favourite venue I was looking forward to getting stuck in!

Day 1 was properly gutted when I picked out 14 on little Adams 😭 not an area of the lake I like tbf after a little paddy I set myself a target of 150lb to try and leave myself a chance of sneaking in the main frame.
Had a steady day catching everything up and down at 15m with casters did have a go down the edge but made a mess of feeding it bringing in a million roach. Ended with 158 what was 3rd on little Adams but was about 30th going into day 2!
If I got my edges a bit better and a little quicker on working out depths 200lb may have been possible.

Day 2 there were 4 or 5 pegs in my mind that I felt was capable of catching 400lb and I drew one of them 42 island
A shallow attack was all I had in my mind had a mint day but it was a very frustrating one!
Fish coming way too shallow foul hooking them at 6inch deep 🤯🤯🤯 ended with 398lb

2 mint days

Massive well done to Ryan on winning and Andy Bennett coming second and also breaking the record fist day and for running the series!

UK champs today at the super Rookery Waters
Drew 23 on jay was abit gutted tbf was on 19 Saturday didn't think it would be the area to win!

Had a lovely day on pellets catching 170lb of massive carp

Alex Dockerty managed to win is section and come 3rd too Keeping himself right in the mix

Had a giggle all morning with him after he exploded a can pop allover the van

Well done on Dave winning it!

4 epic days out the bank last week for me 😍

Thursday was the Fishub pairs festival at Maver-Dynamite Hayfield Lakes some proper epic fishing!
Day 1 I was on island 52 had a very rusty day tbf catching 218lb mainly shallow on pellets took me way too long to work out depths and tried to fish 2 long for first part of match cost me another 50lb witnessed one hell of performance of Kris slamming 396lb off 44!
Dad came back with the goods too catching 220lb off 70 Adams both felt we didn't get it quite right on the day but we were in the framing places so day 2 was all about keeping in them!

Day 2 papa drew me 70 on Adam's really fancied it nice simple day shallow and edge!
Set of like a rocket with 220lb in the bag with 2hours left but the wind turned and fish just left me made a mistake with my edge line fishing it took far out ended with 296lb was gutted tbf!
Dad nailed 200lb on island lake leaving us 4th overhaul so a good 2 days

Rob Swan Angling made a mess of it Adams nailed 405lb mega performance form him!
Him and cal took it out 2
Proper epic fishing looking forward to festival at the end of month!

Jumped on 2 qualifiers too this weekend
Was in a harder part of jay at rookery managed to nick a section win with 100lb and drew a bad on at glebe in 10 on lake 1 still had 120lb

Fishing's amazing at the moment with the weather and things

Well done to mainline match winning the Bait-Tech Feedermasters final over the weekend gutted we didn't make it through this year st Alban's is a mega venue for it massive fish!

Got to say a massive well done the England teams over the weekend! Looks like they have been some super close battles! With the under 15s and 20s winning silver! Im sure all 3 teams will be back stronger next year to win gold!

Second round of the UK angling champ's yesterday at messingham
Drew peg 22 on Hollywood strip spoke to a few of the locals and gave me a sad look never a good start I needed a win after my terrible start at larford! One of them days where it just felt like there was no carp in my area had 3 hours fishing for everything that swims and 2 hours trying to nick a carp but only managed 3 had a lovely day catching tench bream and f1s on casters but never felt it was going to get good enough to get to 100lb
Massive well done to little Dave on winning the section with 114lb my 80lb was 4th
Travel partner Alex Dockerty came second overall with dale winning and speedy was 3rd 14oz separated the top 3

Epic weekend on the bank

Ran papas section on the national watched him put a sterling performance in for 4th in full section nailing some skimmers on the tip 💪💪
Then we celebrated like mad when we found out the team had won😍

Well done to ossett mega set of lads Chris Greensides Angling was awesome in my dad's section

Today had a look at a messinghan with the UKs there Thursday caught 108lb with every peg in it slowed it down a little so meany fish in them lakes well done to Matty Pillay on the win 💪💪

Good luck to Drennan Barnsley Blacks out on the world club feeder champs this week am sure they will smash it up ❤️

Smashing in the qualifiers at the moment mainly Mavers but did manage a last minute ticket for fish o yesterday 😍

My last 2 Mavers have been a little hard but still had some bites so no complaints
Peg 24 at the glebe for 80lb no good
And 29 beastie at decoy gave it a big moan when a dipped that one 🤣 tipped back with a hour to go around 40lb.

After a good talking to my self and getting my self into flyer mindset yesterday while having a little walk around the lake with Les
Into the bag of dreams

32 laurels horrendous 🤣
Lindholme fished its wraps of my 200lb won nothing
Les Marshall won the match of Benny's 51 with a massive 330 💪💪

Dad framedso won us a little back ❤️

Daiwa UK pole fishing masters at Tunnel Barn Farm for the last 3 days!

Long one this 🤣

The best festival of the year for me is unreal buzz for this every year!

My 3 days didn't go to plan and a couple of tweaks to the approach would have definitely seen me in the frame places!

Day 1 was on club 13 section of doom tbf about 150k of big final winners to compete with 🤣
Bait choice was wrong looking back had a simple day fishing across on 2 lines with casters and down the middle with casters
Set off well catching steady for the first 2 hours then it went to nothing changed one of the caster lines to maggots and got catching again in the last hour came off a 8lb carp at the net my 79lb left me 3rd with 85lb and 89lb beating me
Chance missed needed to fish maggots across took me way to long to change.

Day 2 needed a good one and drew one 23 canal
One you'd always take, took and aggressive approach to try and catch a big weight casters across and long down the edge and some GB down the edge
Again set off like rocket and just went to nothing kept ticking away but didn't get a little run down the edge left me 2nd with 115lb and 125lb winning
Bait choice was wrong i felt maggots up and down down the middle would of seen me over the line

5 points going into the last day could of easily been 2 points

Last day felt I needed 100lb + peg and a win to sneak in the frame places

Drew a bad one 6 high had a quick look at where bagger fished first day but unfortunately the ducks had had party and flattened all the rushed 🤣 about how my first 2 days where going
Had to attack it and fish for carp so just fished GB in the mud all day was very poor 1 little carp and some f1s for 20lb with 50lb winning the section definitely a different approach would of got me close to that was quite a lot of little f1s and silvers caught around me but 6 points and 350lb was needed to frame so I needed a 150lb peg on the last day

Massive well done Andy Bennett on winning it he doesn't make any mistakes that man 💪

Big thank you the team at Catch More Media they work like mad to ensure the events run as smoothly as possible working along side the everyone at tunnel

Got a lot to think about for next year can't wait been an epic couple of days away with the lads

Back on the qualifying campaign!

Yesterday the MMT at the glebe drew a good one in 87 on lake 6 always a chance of a weight from this area of the lake

Was a little gutted when I got the peg to see the wind pumping up the other end but there was a odd mugger knocking about

Started of mugging had 6 in the first 45 mins before they disappeared then had a lovely run on the feeder then a very slow 1 hour and 45 was like there wasn't fish down this end of the lake.
Then it was like a light flicked on and caught steady away on the feeder till the end

Had 168lb for 4th in match 💪

Never catching the 300lb needed Jay had he unreal when he gets on half a peg 💪

Bit gutted for Paul Holland Angling fished a mega match at the top end of my lake for 225lb would be enough in most matches

Looking forward to a summer of getting dragged in buy some carp now 😍

Unreal weekend!

After having one of the worst matches iv had in a long time at ferry last Sunday it was back to the Bait-Tech Feedermasters individual campaign at Southfield, never really got to grips with the place but it's not a venue I visit regularly.

Didn't really want to go Saturday or Sunday but if your not fishing your not qualifying

Drew peg 30 What's the last peg in the first zone was bitterly cold wind smack in face lovely

After a bite less 2 hours was and just trying to work out how much I would get for my gear it locked in with one
Nearly fell off my box!

Managed another 3 big lads and 3 skimmers to just beating the best looking angler on the bank Danny Wilson booking my place into this year's final 💪💪

Sunday papa decided that it's impossible for me to have anything over him and won the match!

Guess you never know with fishing

Massive well done to the rest of the winners and qualifyers!
