Easter courses are now LIVE! 🏏

Courses shall run at Doncaster Town Fields (with wet weather provision available at The Cricket Barn indoor facility in Styrrup if needed).

There will be two Masterclasses running along with two training camp days for 1-1 players.

Wednesday 8th April will see Central Districts (NZ First Class) Pro Brad Schmulian join us to pass on his excellent knowledge and experience as a player and coach.

A brilliant day of cricket on Monday at a sun-kissed Doncaster Town CC, where our Under-16s faced off against the MCCF Sheffield Hub U16s. 🤝

Two exciting T20 matches were played in excellent spirit, showcasing high-quality skills from both teams throughout the day. A fantastic display of youth cricket, with great sportsmanship and plenty of talent on show. 👏

Two brilliant days of Masterclass courses completed this week! 🏏💥

Mornings were all about batting, while the afternoons saw a split focus on bowling and wicket-keeping. Millions of balls hit, loads of drills and competitive challenges covered — from bowling to keeping — all designed to support player development across the board. 🙌

Huge thanks to all the players who attended and to the coaches for their incredible effort and energy 💪🏏

Our ssummer match series kicked off with T20 Double-Header against Yorkshire Cricket Coaching 🏏

Tuesday marked a fantastic start to the summer cricket series for our teams with two thrilling T20 matches played against Yorkshire Cricket Coaching at a sun-kissed Doncaster Town CC.

A mixed SG Cricket Academy squad of U13 & U15 players took to the field to face the Yorkshire Cricket Coaching JPP 1st XI, showcasing skill, teamwork, and plenty of determination in both encounters. The matches were closely contested, with each team claiming one victory – a fair split of the spoils on a brilliant day of cricket.

The players were treated to traditional teas during the break and enjoyed pizzas after the final match, making for a perfect end to an action-packed day.

A huge thank you goes to all the players, parents, umpires and sponsors whose support and enthusiasm made the day so enjoyable.

We look forward to more fixtures across all age groups as the summer continues as we aim to keep on providing young cricketers with opportunities to play more matches & keep on developing their skills, creating lasting memories and friendships. 💪 🏏

The first outdoor course of the 2025 season will be on Friday 11th April featuring Professional cricketer Brad Schmulian of Central Districts, NZ. 🇳🇿 🏏

Brad is an all-rounder who spends the UK summer playing as an overseas Professional in the Bradford Premier Cricket League. He is also a great coach with a vast amount of coaching experience in England and New Zealand.

Former Yorkshire CCC spinner Jack Shutt will be in attendance for two of the sessions to pass on his knowledge & experience. Jack had several years as a Professional cricketer and is one of only a small number of spin bowlers to take 5 wickets in a Vitality T20 Blast game.

A trip to the seaside went brilliantly yesterday for our T20 Masterclass featuring Harpreet Singh @ Scarborough College. 🏏🔥

Attendees worked on plenty of fielding drills to start with and then onto batting work including plenty of use from the BOLA machines.

The afternoon allowed bowlers to work on consistency & skills including slower balls & nailing their Yorkers in a competitive scenario. While the keepers got chance to cover standing up & standing back, including some nicking practice. 🤲 🙌

Thanks to those who attended and we look forward to our next few days of courses happening over the summer holidays. 💪
