🏏THE WEEK AHEAD AT FISHLAKE 🏏

Another action-packed week awaits at Pinfold Lane as cricket and bowls continue throughout the club.

There’s plenty to look forward to over the coming days with junior cricket, midweek action, training sessions and bowls fixtures all on the schedule. It’s great to see so many players representing the club and enjoying their sport throughout the summer.

🔥 Attention will once again turn to Saturday where our senior cricket teams face another important weekend of league action. Both sides have worked incredibly hard to put themselves in strong positions and will be hoping to continue their excellent form with another positive set of results.

👏 Thank you to everyone who gives up their time to help the club run smoothly, from our volunteers and coaches to scorers, grounds staff and supporters.

🍻 If you’re free during the week or over the weekend, come down to Pinfold Lane, support the teams and enjoy everything the club has to offer.

🏏 DOUBLE POINTS RETURN TO PINFOLD LANE! 🏏

It was another fantastic weekend for Fishlake CC, with both our Saturday sides securing victories and keeping themselves comfortably sat in 2nd place in their respective divisions.

The 1st XI travelled to Sheffield United and produced a strong all-round performance. Excellent bowling from Keith Bee, Jacob Meehan, James Yeaman and Jonny Holmes, along with a run out from Tim Elliot, saw Sheffield United dismissed for 123 in 30.2 overs.

In reply, Fishlake made light work of the chase. Harry Poskitt 73*, while Jacob Meehan finished 27* and Jason Mortimore added 19* as Fishlake reached 127/2 in 22.2 overs to secure an 8-wicket victory.

Meanwhile, the 2nd XI welcomed Sprotbrough 4th to Pinfold Lane. As a development side, Sprotbrough continued to show the importance of giving opportunities to players coming through the game, and credit must go to them for their efforts throughout.

After Fishlake skipper losing the toss for the second week running, Fishlake were asked to field first. Simon Waites (4 wickets) and Jude Hubbard (6 wickets) tore through the visitors’ batting line-up, bowling Sprotbrough out for just 31 in 14.3 overs.

With cricket teas not quite ready, the lads took on some much-needed hydration before heading out to bat. Oliver Bull finished unbeaten on 25*, supported by Joel Kemp 3* and Ethan Stoddart 1*, as Fishlake reached 33/1 in just 4 overs to seal a dominant 9-wicket victory.

With the cricket done early, both teams were able to come together afterwards, enjoy their cricket tea and a cold drink in the sunshine.

Two wins. Two sets of points. Both teams sitting comfortably in 2nd place.

The hard work continues, but it’s been a brilliant first half of the season for both sides. Promotion remains firmly in sight.

A warm summer evening and plenty happening down at Fishlake Cricket Club tonight!

Junior and senior training gets underway from 6pm, with the bar open and fully stocked and the kitchen serving up Chinese Chicken Curry alongside our popular stone-baked pizzas:

🏏 SATURDAY CRICKET IS BACK! 🏏

Another big weekend awaits for Fishlake Cricket Club as both senior sides are in league action once again.

The 1st XI make the trip to Sheffield Uni, looking to continue their strong form and keep the pressure on the teams above them.

Back at Pinfold Lane, the 2nd XI welcome Sprotbrough in what should be another competitive encounter. The lads will be hoping to make home advantage count and put on a performance for the Fishlake faithful.

🕐 Both matches start at 1:00pm

If you’re looking for your Saturday cricket fix, get yourselves down to Pinfold Lane. The bar and kitchen will be open throughout the day, and for those unable to attend, the 2nd XI match will be available live on FrogBox via our YouTube channel.

The cricket season is flying by and there’s another packed week ahead at Fishlake Cricket & Bowls Club.

With cricket, bowls, training sessions and social events taking place throughout the week, the club continues to be a hive of activity both on and off the field.

Our volunteers, players, coaches and supporters have all played a huge part in what has already been a fantastic season so far, and there’s plenty more to look forward to as we head deeper into the summer.

Whether you’re joining us for a game, training, social bowling, a drink at the bar, or simply to support the club, everyone is welcome.

🏏 9 WEEKS DOWN, PLENTY MORE TO GO! 🏏

After nine weeks of the season, both of our Saturday sides have made an excellent start, and it’s fantastic to see all the hard work, commitment, and dedication paying dividends.

Our 1st XI currently sit 3rd in the table, just 4 points behind second place, while our 2nd XI are enjoying a brilliant season of their own, sitting 2nd and only 12 points off the league leaders.

Both teams have created a healthy gap between themselves and the sides below, putting themselves in strong positions as we head into the second half of the season.

The aim remains the same for both teams – to keep picking up points, keep performing week in and week out, and give themselves every chance of securing promotion come the end of the season.

There’s still plenty of cricket to be played, but the lads have given themselves a fantastic platform to build from.

Keep up the great work, lads!

🏏 SUNDAY CUP CRICKET ON THE COAST 🏏

After last weekend’s success, our Sunday XI are back in action as they make the journey to face Cleethorpes in a huge Cup Quarter-Final

While Cleethorpes are the home side, the match will be played at Horton le Clay, with a place in the semi-finals up for grabs.

It’s one of the longer trips of the season, but one the lads will be looking to make worthwhile as they aim to put in another strong performance and keep building momentum. With a good mix of experience and youth in the side, there’s plenty to look forward to.

If you’re heading over to support, enjoy the day and get behind the lads.
