Congratulations to our client Stu Phillips who has for the second year running, against all the odds that covid19 and the horrendous French weather could throw at him, managed to complete the legendary 3 day Tour de France stage ‘Haute Route Ventoux’ in the French Alps.

Stu set himself a tougher mission this year. Not happy with just completing the 3 day legendary ride, which would push even the fittest athletes to the very limits of their physical ability, Stu was determined to smash the 2hr time trial barrier, something that would put him in a different league both physically and mentally.

Training for this was not just about how fit we could get him, it was also about changing his physique. Strength to weight ratio played a big part. Climbing hills is hard enough as it is, it’s even harder when you’re carrying extra weight whether that’s muscle or fat(muscle in Stu’s case).

Stu reduced his weight so that he could climb with more efficiency. The tricky thing was keeping his strength at a level so that he could power up the hills and maintain that power for a longer duration. Diet, strength and conditioning, hours of specific bike training all came together on the 3 day stage.

I can proudly confirm that Stu achieved his goal of smashing the 2hr TT barrier and went on to complete the 3 day stage, battling some of the worst weather France could throw at him. Of the 240 starters, only 87 finished.

Well done Stu🙌, we are very proud of you. Your achievement represents the huge dedication and sacrifice that’s needed to push the boundaries.

Great workout this morning, back at the park after Friday when our Campers were out running up our favourite hill of the isle 'Killer Hill'. It is not for the faint hearted, but who doesn't like a challenge 😉

Today's session consisted of a pyramid of resistance exercises with interval training in between, great way to kick start the week!

A special well done to Tina Mason who recently had a fitness reassessment with us and throughout lockdown has managed to stay active and perform our Facebook lockdown workouts at home. Tina has managed to lose 6.2% body fat and is now down to 22.3%, whilst increasing her lean tissue. Tina's metabolic age is now that of a 20 year old! Amazing Tina, well done you!! 💪🏅

Great finish to the week today with an intense circuit. Bootcampers had to get through multiple stations while giving it 💯% with little rest in between .

Working on strength, core, speed and agility one of our favourites, the ‘bear crawl’, is fast becoming their nemesis! 🤣💪🏻
Awesome work this week guys, you are all making some great progress. Keep it up 👍🏻

Fantastic week at Quality Lifestyles!
Great turn out on both our morning and evening BootCamps.

This week our campers took part in a tough Negative rep session where we slowed each exercise down and had them perform reps with a 5 second eccentric phase. This is great for keeping the muscles under tension which improves strength and helps break through a plateau.

Friday morning was an intense AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible) circuit which consisted of 10 reps of 4 exercises non stop for 10 minutes. Working in teams they had to run 20 metres in between each round and collect as many chips/tokens as possible. Everybody managed to complete 7 rounds which equalled a whopping 70 T press ups. Amazing work guys, well done! 💯🏅

Back at it this morning!

Our 6am Bootcamp is back underway! This morning, the campers took part in a tough ladder session including cardio and resistance.

Body weight workouts can be simple yet effective. We keep our sessions varied with little to no equipment.

Congratulations to Roger Moore who has lost an incredible 2st 10lb in 7 months.

Roger has given 100% commitment in his quest to improve his quality of life and he is an inspiration to us all. There’s no magic formula or special diet involved in achieving results like these however, what is required is dedication, hard graft, consistency, sound nutrition without the fads and belief in yourself and your PT to succeed, even when the going gets tough.

Amazing start to 2020 for all our Bootcampers.
They are all back to it following the festive period, giving 💯% 💪🏻🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️

A special well done to Anna Richards who has recently had a fitness reassessment and has managed to lose 3.3% bodyfat and increase her lean tissue by 4.4lbs.
Most notably at the age of 45 her metabolic age is now that of a 24 year old!
Anna has beaten her personal best of 28 full press ups to an amazing 34!! Her plank has increased by 47 seconds to a total of 3:05, that’s over 3 minutes!

What a phenomenal achievement! Keep up the great work Anna, you are a fine example of the results that can be achieved if you put your mind to it 👍🏻💪🏻
