A day off, but not really a day off!

One of the things I absolutely love about what we have here at Avalon Mill is being able to walk all of our dogs properly without ever having to leave the premises.

We originally built this track for the horses, but it’s definitely not just the horses who benefit from it! Our dogs absolutely love their walks around here every morning and evening.

It means they get plenty of exercise, space to explore and time out with us, while we have the reassurance of knowing exactly where they’ve been and that they’re not picking anything up from public areas or coming into contact with unknown dogs.

And, not forgetting, they also have their own outdoor play area too, giving them even more space to run around, play and enjoy themselves.

And Mabel’s confidence is growing all the time, thanks to Mick. It’s lovely to see her becoming more comfortable and assured with every walk.

Although two of them seem to think the horses’ water station is their very own paddling pool!

So, while it may be a day off from the usual routine, it’s certainly not a day off for the dogs — or for us! We’re very lucky to have all of this right on our doorstep, although I think the dogs might believe we built it especially for them! 🐾🐶❤️

What an incredible moment to witness at Doncaster yesterday. 🥹🐎❤️

Watching Saffie Osborne make history as the first female jockey ever to win a British Classic, winning the St Leger on Highwayman, was just something else.

You could see exactly what it meant to her as she came over that finishing line — the emotion was absolutely written all over her face, and I genuinely loved watching it. ❤️

From a background in eventing and winning European medals on ponies, to becoming a professional jockey and now making British racing history. What an achievement. 👏🏼

There are some sporting moments that are just special to witness, and yesterday was definitely one of them.

Girl power at its absolute best. 💪🏼🐎❤️

Never mind a Fairfax & Favor blue box delivery… 💙📦

The best surprises arrive in a GREY Avalon box… 🩶🐴😂

And today’s delivery was a particularly special one. ❤️

After all the heartache of losing Maggie, I was absolutely made up when my friend Aysia Gazi-Wright asked me to go and collect Pearl and bring her home. 🥹🐴

There’ll never be another Maggie — she was one of those very special horses who leave hoofprints on your heart that never fade. ❤️

hopefully Pearl is here to bring back some of the smiles, make some wonderful new memories and start a very special new chapter. And I’m so pleased I got to play a tiny part in bringing her home. 🩶

Wishing you and Pearl all the luck and happiness in the world together — you deserve every bit of it. ❤️

He was such a good boy as always… although he spent most of his appointment catching up on his beauty sleep! 💤😂

Just a little reminder to anyone who has ever had a puppy or dog from us…

If circumstances ever change, please contact me.

Life happens. Situations change, sometimes through absolutely no fault of anyone, and there should never be any embarrassment in asking for help.

A little girl came back to me today after her owner found herself in a position where she could no longer keep her. I’m just so pleased that she messaged me and gave me the opportunity to help.

Please know that any dog bred here at Avalon Mill will always be welcome back through our doors if they need somewhere safe to go, whether that means staying with us or us helping to find the right suitable home for them.

That doesn’t mean we can necessarily buy a dog back or offer a refund, but I would much rather you contact me than feel you have nowhere else to turn or have to surrender them elsewhere.

They were born here. I brought them into the world, and I will always care what happens to them. ❤️
