Well, that’s Round 2 of the out of the way….

Peg 15 on pool 1 has been home for the day, looked good for plenty mugging but it’s been a hard slog 🥵.

Nothing in the first hour shallow, they’ve disappeared as soon as my pole has gone over the water, so I’ve persevered with the waggler and bomb to weigh in 84lb of carp and silvers 🎣.

Finished 4th in section, not the worst day but I thought I had enough for 2nd or 3rd 🫣.

Thats 7 points now, definitely need a result in Round 3 to stay in touch with the top 10, and hope for a draw at Barston 🤞.

Peg 15 on Pool 1….. plenty milling around so hopefully they’re here for some scran 💪🎣.

Love waking up knowing the UK Angling Champs are kicking off, especially when it’s at Hallcroft Fishery And Caravan Park 😍.

After a cracking breakfast, it was into the bucket of doom (not today 💪) to draw out peg 12, end peg on Moat Outer 🤤💥.

Pretty sure I floated to the peg I was that happy!!

Kept it pretty simple today, short line on the deck with corn, long at 14mtr on the deck with pellets, shallow at 14mtr and a couple of margin rigs for some zoo creatures late on 💪.

After an iffy start only managing 1 lump shallow, I’ve thrown the bomb out and managed to snare a lovely ghosty and a small mirror but Billy across was starting to sack up down the edge so I soon followed suit!

Found a lovely depth either side up to the pallets, fed groundbait and started in my left margin, it’s erupted, waaaaaaay too many fish, it was mental, couldn’t get my rig in 😳.

Ended up plugging away between my margin lines and ended up having a lovely days fishing, weighed in 91.14 for 3rd in section (default second so a few beer tokens 😜)

Thanks to Halcroft for being such great hosts, Andy Kinder and team for organising yet another great match.

All eyes on The Glebe, fingers crossed for another flyer.

Snared a few spaces on Andy Kinder’s Bank Holiday open at the lovely Hayfield Lakes, but it was all about Kian today on his first open match 😎.

Thanks to Andy, we’ve managed to stay close just in case he needed some help, but he’s plugged away and managed to snare a few lumps in the afternoon.

Always a lovely day at Hayfield, I’ve only set up the wag and bomb, but the fishing was hard, they just didn’t want it at all 😩.

Best get some tackle ordered for lado, looking forward to his next outing 🎣💪.

Another day on the bank at the stunning The Glebe and Mallory Park Fisheries 👌.

Traveled dow for the KPC open match, pools 5, 6 and 7 in today and all have some form recently.

Peg 82 on pool 5 has been home for the day, standard Glebe set up with feeder for a long chuck, bomb & pellet, long pole on the deck, a mugging rig and trusty waggler 💪.

Not had the best of starts, a fruitless first hour losing 3 carp on the feeder ☹️, gave my head a wobble and threw the waggler out for a steady run.

Not much worked today, fish were down one end of the lake and the end pegs have dominated, so I’ve had to alternate between bomb and waggler to force it.

Ended the day with 16 carp, but a very small stamp, they only went 59lb 😩.

Either way, a top day with some banter thrown in, sun was cracking the flags all day ☀️.

Not long until Rd 1 of the UK Champs, best get the gear cleaned and ready 😍.

Well, a day off work and a visit to The Glebe and Mallory Park Fisheries for the KPC open match, and what a day 👌.

Managed to pull a decent peg out the bag, 105 on pool 7, knew I had chance of a decent day.

Standard Glebe set up, feeder for the far bank chuck, bomb & corn, 14mtr line and top 2+2 on the deck.

Started on the feeder chuck, Mainline Match cell 2mm pellets with a good sq**rt of the Cell syrup, and a tuna wafter, loving this stuff at the moment 👌.

Feeder started producing, some proper carp and I’ve quickly gone 60lb, as per with the Glebe I’ve pulled out of a few foul hookers.

Started rotating between feeder, bomb and the 14mtr line and had a lovely days fishing, ending the match with 94lb 12oz, annoyingly with what I have lost, I could have won the lake 😩.

Nice to snare a few lumps, weather is picking up and they’re starting to have a chew 💪.

Top day, great banter and a well run match 🎣👌.

Another visit to the fantastic Sykehouse Fisheries today for the Friday open, in the rover I’ve pulled 16th pick out the bag, managed to get on peg 20 on the Stock lake, not a bad area of late.

Set up a short pole line, PR .6 diamond for pellets on the deck, method with micros soaked in the lovely Mainline Match Cell sticky syrup and bomb & corn for last resort.

Discovered today it’s mega deep on Stock, even on the short line it’s 8/9ft 😩…..

I’ve started on the method while feeding the short line, first 3 hrs I’ve managed to lose 3 and land 2 decent carp. Loads showing shallow but no one was catching on the waggler.

Plugged away untill the last hour and half, first chuck on the short line and it’s flown under, it’s been pretty steady until the all out, but I’ve managed to pull out of 4 which has cost me big time.

Ended the match with 7 carp and 2 skimmers which went 48-9oz, managed to scrape into the money and come away with some beer tokens for the effort.

Great day with plenty of bites, they’re definitely waking up 👍.

No catch shot today, wouldn’t have seen anything with the monsoon weather conditions 🌧🤣 so here’s a proper instant win 🥇 🐠

Another trip out today, and another new venue in Woodhouse grange fisheries.

Managed to jump on as a guest on the Walkley Bus winter league and managed to draw a decent area, 9 on Kennel which apparently has some recent form 👀.

I’ve set up a couple of rigs, short for maggots and a long line at 14mtr for micros and corn. Method to the island and a bomb just incase.

Started short, tapping in maggots for not a lot, silvers have run riot and I got sick of shipping back for 3oz roach 😩, but I did manage a monster Garry the Gudgoen 💪 🐟.

Kept feeding the short line while I had some time on the method and managed a little run of small F1’s for an hour.

Gone long searching for them but it’s not really got started.

In the end I’ve had a little run short feeding maggots with corn on the hook to keep away from the vermin silvers 😆.

Ended with 30lb, without knowing the lake I’ve definitely missed a trick today, and should have fed the short line all day for the last hour and set an edge line up.

Live and learn, great venue and definitely one I will visit again.

Well, it was time for the final round of the UK Angling Champs and was the venue.

I’d had a half decent run in this years event, but a bad day at Decoy meant I needed a result to stay top half of the pile, so the draw was key today…… drew a cracker, peg 22 so a carp match it was 😎.

I’ve gone all out rod attack today, left the pole in the van. A quick chat with Andy Kinder who gave some tips and said I had a chance of the win, so seemed I was in for a day at least.

I’ve set up a few rods today, short method and bomb, hybrid on the long line at 70/80mtr and the trusty waggler as a few were mulling around.

Tried something new bait wise n’all today, went all out and wasn’t to be disappointed.

Started on the long chuck for a fruitless first hour, gave it ten mins for a play on the waggler and decided to just bang out the hybrid as far as I could…… 30 seconds into the settle and it’s flown round, a resident lump graced the net.

Wasn’t long before another 3 were in the bag, and it was looking good but as per all my matches, I’ve had a quiet couple lf hours 😩.

I’ve stuck to the long line with no one catching short, and managed to units in the last half hour which were very welcomed.

Ended the match with 7 carp, weighing in 47lb for a section second, pipped to the win by 3lb 😩.

Ended the competition in 35th position, not a million miles away from the top 20 so a vast improvement on last year 💪.

Massive well done to that man Andy Power Angling, the kids unreal 👀.

Looking forward to next year, it’s a great event run brilliantly 😎.
