First home game of the season this Sunday as we welcome FC Pollington to the Rec for Gameweek 2 of the 26/27 Premier Division.

Not the start we wanted last week but we’re ready and raring to put it down to a lack of personnel and poor decisions. El Capitan has sent out the bat signal seen as he had to cover a shift up top last week so let’s hope he gets the right response.

Post Leger debrief on the sidelines, refreshments available and a Blue and Black Masterclass we hope. Smithy might even come skipping down Auburn with tales of love and laughter for us all to rejoice in.

No point laying in feather lads and lasses, we may aswell have a laugh about it. Up the Tumbler 💙🖤

Scawthorpe Herons 2 - 1 Edlington Tumbler 💙🖤

The Blue and Black come up short in their opening game of the season with 5 minutes of madness causing us a world of bother.

A poor first half which saw us concede 2 and a second half where we showed a bit of fight and grabbed a goal. Grant is easily the MOTM for grafting until the very end and keeping it going. Aston, James and Azza worth a shout as new faces and making a great account of theirselves. If our gobs**te shandy drinking striker and the sick note turned up, we might have come away with somet but such is the beautiful game eh! Fair play to Herons like, we’re gracious in defeat - apparently we weren’t gonna turn up but such are Chinese whispers!

Temple at home next week, post Leger anorl wow might be one of the poorliest games of football ever. If anyone sees Boults, tell him to stay at home cos he’d have s**t himself anyway.

Return of the (Blue &) Black, once again… 💙🖤

We begin our 26/27 season in the way we finished our last, toe to toe with familiar foes Scawthorpe Scorpions Herons FC and what finer way to ring in the new campaign!

You’ll find all the appropriate details below for the travelling Rec, and we look forward to seeing you all back after a fruitful pre-season.

The Blue and Black are back. Pollington at
Home in a friendly. The hallowed turf may be scorched earth but get down to the Rec for 10:30 to see us ring in the new season with our first trial run out of the new campaign.

Snap cabin open, same old faces and the same old intellectual conversations will be held.

Gianni Infantino has tried to make football a commodity, we can’t even get our lads to pay their fines. Football will never be about money if you stay squeaky.

As the dust settles on another successful season, we’d like to thank everyone who made it possible this year 💙🖤

Firstly, to Sime and the lads for retaining both the Champions Cup and The KO Cup to make it a double for the Blue and Black once again. Wasn’t always easy, and we were up against it a few Sundays but cream always rises to the top. Another two in the cabinet and hungry for more next season 🏆🏆

We’d like to thank our sponsors for all their support - Merj Electrical, Nur Indian Restaurant, Phil Reed, Sir Daniel of Walker for the b**r money and El Capitan with his various schemes through the season to keep us ticking over. We couldn’t do it without you, if you’d like to sponsor us next season details will follow in the week.

To the good people of Edlington, all the staff at Edlington Top Club over the years and to The Tumbler for giving us a new HQ and looking after us going forward - we appreciate all the support and we hope you’ll be with us next season as we look to take the lot once again.

The end of season awards saw Matty Barron take Managers’ and Players’ player with Canna taking Fan Favourite (how many pints did he pay on?!) and a bit of warm weather team building last weekend made sure everyone was relaxed and ready to go again in September.

So that’s that, England are still in the World Cup and preseason doesn’t begin until August. Only one thing left to do…
