If there was ever any doubt or question about the character of this team, then they’re fully put to bed after that. Definition of a dogfight, Herons just seem to know how to play us - all respect to them bar a few bad apples but we’ve got 11 of em so it’s all fair game.

Was always gonna be cagey, a bit of a bogey team by all accounts for us. Can’t really wax lyrical about the match as it was fu***ng boring in fairness - always is with Herons, they just seem to box us in.

Goes to pens. We’ve never won a shootout. My man for herons kicks it towards Tickhill. Are we a bit back? Boults passes it to their keeper. Back level again. They miss. Grant Hill steps up. All I hear is the roar and the next thing you know we’re on the pitch.

El Capitan boss yet again, Pete Boults a different level - the only footballer who gets better with age. Ralphy chesting ball down and switching his cap around with 5 to go 🤣 It was his day - what a boy. Canna just unbelievable, I’d get up for work without an alarm if he was sat on end of bed. I would run through a brick wall for that beautiful angry short bastard.

Edlington Tumbler have won a double, retained both cups. Start your pre-seasons now because we’re having the lot next year. No gobsh*tes can spoil this party. We are the bo****ks. Champions again ole ole.

So we find ourselves here again, on the brink of another trophy. A trophy that will see us win the Cup Double, a trophy were out to retain and a trophy we don’t want to hand over lightly.

But Scawthorpe Herons, as we’ve seen this season, are game as pheasant and they won’t be rolling over for their bellies tickled, that can be assured.

Last game of the season, just one more win, one more Sunday session and then we can all go home. Get yourselves to Harworth and let’s see this through. From the first whistle…

The Champions Cup remains in DN12 for another year 🏆

As we stood on the terrace, Stella cracked - Our Charlie goes “smell goals today me”. I’d ask him to put the lotto on cos he was on the money today. Though not officially confirmed yet, murmurs are that Boults’ 15 second opener is the fastest goal in Donny Cup Final history. Show me quicker and I’ll show you a fibber.

We lead early, then before nowt it’s 2 as Shay takes an absolute belt that pays off. Some can call it laziness, some can call it complacency but moments of madness lead to 2-2. The next 10 are a bit of a daze as we try to make sense of what’s happened.

As a neutral, it’s a cracking start to a cup final. But we are not neutrals, we are the furthest thing from neutral and your arse starts to twitch a bit. But you take a breath, look around, realise we’re at Harworth and relish the opportunity at another moment in Blue and Black history.

3-2, back at the races. It’s not the 2 goal buffer we had, but it’s better than level. It’s kicks in though, feet are found and it’s 4-2 and then 5. A bit like Gerrard in 06’, it’s the Harley final this - he’s been absolutely mustard and we’re gagging for the hat trick. The score line should be 7-1 given they were offside for the second and we had a goal line clearance that Skelton can verify was defo over the line when the video is out. Not to worry… we’ve scored a 6th, El Capitan kissing the camera and putting the nail in the coffin.

Full time. The Champions Cup remains with the champions. But just like the first half, complacency can come a cropper. Half of the job done and the lion share to do next week for the double. Drink it in today and back on smoke Monday. E D L O 💙🖤

This coming Sunday, we look to retain the Champions Cup against Dunscroft United 🏆

10am KO at Harworth Colliery FC, a place we enjoyed some good days at last season and hope to make more memories at this year.

The first of two consecutive final weekends - we look to get off to a good start and get 50% of the job done against a very good Dunscroft side who’ve beat strong opposition along the way.

As always, we need all your support to help the lads retain their glory and keep the double alive. ÂŁ4 entry, ÂŁ2 concessions and refreshments available.

No fixture news as Auckley have rolled over and given us the game tomorrow so that’s our league campaign done.

Two cup finals on the horizon and very much the priority for the Blue and Black but we’d just like say that we’re sure there’s a lot of questions surrounding the club with the name change etc…

We are no longer playing out of the Top Club due to circumstances that were unforeseen by all parties but we’d like to take this opportunity to thank Matt, Chris, India - all the bar staff who have looked after us over the last few years, and given us some of our best moments and biggest bollockings.

We’d also like to thank Vic and Marie and all the staff at the Tumbler for welcoming us with open arms.

It’s important that no matter what boozer we play out of, we set out to do something that would make people proud of our community and we’d like to think that’s what we’ve done.

We have two cup finals on the way, we need you all with us and we want to do Edlington proud once again.

The good times are calling, up the Tumbler 💙🖤

The Temple FC 5 - 1 Edlington Tumbler FC 💙🖤

A skeleton squad who actually played much better than the scoreline suggests lost on the road this morning as Temple win their debut league title - congratulations from all of here at Edlington Tumbler FC, always nice to get your first and a top set of lads also 👏🏼

Started strong in fairness, 1-1 early doors and it looked like we might actually get some but a few calamity moments and we found ourselves trailing. Considering we were competing with a 4 day bender in Tenerife, Leeds at Wembley and a science convention in Krakow - I can’t fault the lads who did play today, we’re no rollovers and if we can play then we will.

Interim management team Wylee and Smithy have informed me that MOTM is Ash Canna, who in fairness could be it every week but he was especially good today considering the circumstances.

Auckley next week for a leg stretch but the league is wrapped up - and whilst it’s nice to see the Temple lads happy, it’s a bit of gut wrencher to watch the celebrations from afar (not that far like cos we’re on roof terrace soaking it up with em, cracking hospitality as always Judd).

Two cup finals on the horizon and we don’t fancy having to watch the celebrations from afar with those. The lads are up for it and we’ve been here before, so let’s mind how we go. I’d like to think next time we’re on Temple’s roof terrace it’s gonna be with two trophies in tow - let’s not forget we christened it with three after all.

All eyes on the cups, no excuses. Up the Fu***ng Tumbler 💙🖤
