Rossington FC Development 2-4 AFC Bentley Development 👏
After, recovering from the cup final winning hangover we played Rosso in the league last night and ground out a win and 3 points. This was our first game against each other this season. It was more like a winter’s night not a night in May.
Anyway, we went behind, equalised and then went behind again. We had chances but we weren’t feeling it. 2-1 down at half time.
We were far better in the 2nd half, in fact we did everything better, scored 3 and won 4-2. Shane McHale and Jack Roberts with a brace each. Becoming very predictable that, and the two are leaving Rocky standing still in the race for the golden boot…
A big thank you to the lads who were available last night, never easy midweek with the number of lads we have working away and shifts etc…
That’s +2 for the goal difference but with 3 games to go we need many more…
Next up is West End Terriers down at the Avenue on Thursday 21st May.. 💚💙⚽️

It’s a 18.45 kick off at Rosso Miners Welfare, West End Lane, Rosso.

RIP Roy.. 💙💚

Everyone at AFC Bentley are saddened to hear of the passing of our Honorary President Roy Butterworth.

Roy worked tirelessly alongside Nigel and Pete for many years to keep both the football and cricket ticking along no matter how bad things got.

A true legend of the village who will be sadly missed by all 💚💙

Well, we did it. 2025/2026 Doncaster & District Premier Division League CUP 🏆winners!! Sounds great doesn’t it 🏆👏💙💚.
Big respect to Daniel Ronan and the lads from Dunscroft United.
We’ve had some battles over the years and Dunscroft have usually come out on top. But not this time. We took an early lead, when in the 2nd minute Shane McHale scored, he only went and scored again on 15 minutes.. Then the long range finishes started with Liam Clark grabbing his 1st goal for us. 3-0 half time. Pinch me!!!
Then Brandon Thompson and Danny Halliday hit 2 beauties making it 5-0.
We dominated from start to finish, everybody was immense, and deservedly won the cup.. 🏆

Just a little reminder it’s cup final day for us tomorrow. We play Dunscroft United in the league cup at Harworth Colliery’s ground… 3pm kick off.

Well we did it.. Into the final of the Doncaster & District Prem Division league cup after beating Denaby 3-2.
It was tough, not for the faint hearted and certainly not for some!!
Terrific team performance. I am so proud 💚💙.
We went ahead in the 2nd minute, when a Denaby defender headed into his own net. Jack Roberts then had a goal disallowed for allegedly pushing the defender in the back as he rose to head back across goal in to the net.
Half time 0-1.
We were resilient under pressure in the 2nd half and struggled to get out our own half until a quick fire double from Jack Roberts made it 3 to us, with Denaby pulling 1 back in between. Then Denaby scored again 3-2, with 3 minutes to go. That was a long 3 minutes.. Agar got himself sin binned. Denaby hit the cross bar and then with seconds to go James Mitchell pulled off the save of the game and season when he diverted a rasping drive over the cross bar.. That was it we won 3-2 and deservedly through to the Final.

Men of the match, couldn’t single anyone out tonight…

The final is this Saturday, 9th May v Dunscroft United at Harworth Colliery..

Tomorrow night we play Denaby United in the semi-final of the Doncaster & District Prem division league cup.. Not ideal playing mid week but we have managed to put a decent squad together.
Kick off is 6.45pm at Old Road, Conisbrough, DN12 3LT.
