WEEKEND ROUNDUP
1 win, 2 losses and a rained off on Saturday as the 1st XI win at home to Wickersley. Curtis Free's (sponsored by The Free Family) 5-24 along with Harsha Rajapaksha's (sponsored by Dirty DIgging Landscaping) 2-49 and Rory Daburger 's (sponsored by Hawsons) 1-27. Town secured 12 points as Jaden Fell (sponsored by Castle Windows & Conservatories) making 83* and seeing the 1st XI home.
The 3rd XI were chasing 257 Joe Horrocks 2-57 and Harry Leach (sponsored by L & T Leach) 1-45 were the only ones to strike in the first half. Leach then top scored with 78* along with Michael Linney's 68 as the 3s pulled up 50 runs short.
The 4th XI took the trip to Adwick-Le-Street as the hosts made 122; Finley Briggs (sponsored by SolarFrame) taking 4-9 and top scoring with 15, Charlie Butt also taking 3-30 helped the 4th XI on their way. Unfortunately not many runs were scored as Muhammad Ammar Khan picked up 13 runs in the chase, as they were dismissed for 77.
In a double header at The Spinks Cricket Ground on Sunday, the Ladies 1st XI picked up another win in the National T20 Plate, scoring 191/2 with Lara Shannon (sponsored by GSL Electrical Services) making 77, Liv Poskitt (sponsored by ReFood) making 38* and Izzy Fidler making 22. York could only making 137/7 despite a late flurry of runs, Elinor Wood (sponsored by Ray 'Dixie' Deans) with 2-13 alongisde Emily Copeman (sponsored by CricStudioInc UK) with 2-29 and Natalie Brown picking up 1-16 securing victory.
Following the Ladies, the 1st XI then scored 242/3 with more runs for Jaden Fell, making 71. Rory Daburger and Rob Grace (sponsored by Mulberry Accounting Services) both hit 50's on the way to the total. An even more convincing bowling display from Town secured a 44 run victory, with with wickets from Curtis Free (4-29) and Jaden Fell (4-33) and 1-0 from Rob Grace secured the victory.
The Women & Girls Softball team took the short trip to Brodsworth on Sunday, as they secured a 35 run win. Jo Chipp-Smith and Jodie Gilchrist the pick of the batters scoring 18 and 16 respectively. Maia Hopkins and Jodie Gilchrist both took wickets as they took 2-21 and 1-9 on their way to a convincing victory.
