🚴‍♂️ Doncaster Wheelers Charlie’s Challenge 2026 🚴‍♀️

Wednesday, 24th June 2026

Join us to honour our dear friend and clubmate, Charlie, while raising funds for Motor Neurone Disease South Yorkshire. Ride the classic route over the iconic Humber Bridge and back, or choose one of our shorter routes in our annual Charlie’s Challenge!

📍 Start Point: Cumberland pub, Doncaster

Ride Options:

Group 1 – Club Run Group
• Full route: ~97 miles via Humber Bridge with feed stop
• Meet: 4:45 PM | Depart: 5:00 PM

Group 2 – Fast Group
• Full route: ~97 miles via Humber Bridge with feed stop
• Meet: 5:15 PM | Depart: 5:30 PM

Group 3 - “Eroica Charlie” Group
• Steady away
• Either a 65 mile option via Goole/Garthorpe with feed station or a shorter 30 mile level 1 ride. Both setting off together.
• Meet: 5:15 PM | Depart: 5:35 PM
• Show off your retro steel bikes or ride your everyday road bike – all welcome!

🏁 Finish: Town field clubhouse, Benetthorpe

⚠️ Important: This is not a led or marshalled ride. Riders must obey the Highway Code and are responsible for their own safety.

Whether you’re a regular rider, a friend of Charlie, a supporter of the cause, or simply want to enjoy a great day on the bike with fantastic company, everyone is welcome.

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

Sometimes the best therapy isn’t always sitting still… sometimes it’s fresh air, movement, good company, and getting out on your bike 🚴‍♂️✨

At Doncaster Wheelers, cycling is about so much more than fitness. It’s about community, connection, laughter, clearing your head, and supporting each other through the good days and the difficult ones too.

Whether it’s a gentle family ride, a solo ride to switch off from the world, or a fast-paced club session with friends, cycling has a way of helping us breathe a little deeper and feel a little lighter.

Exercise has been shown to help reduce stress, improve mood, support sleep, and boost overall mental wellbeing — but we also know that simply being around good people can make a huge difference too 💙❤️
