💦 Water Safety Night — this Wednesday!

Before we break for summer, we're finishing with something a little different — and a lot of fun! 🎉

This Wednesday evening, we're hosting a Water Safety Night where the kids will be learning some really important skills in an engaging, hands-on way.

Here's what to bring:

🏊 Intermediate & Advanced swimmers — pack your pyjamas! Yes, really. The children will be getting in the water wearing them as part of their safety training.

🐬 Beginners (Tank 1 & Tank 2) — just bring a T-shirt!

It's going to be a brilliant session to round off the term. See you poolside! 🌊

He’s called Jasper and he’s a black cocker spaniel. He loves to hump everyone. 🐶👀

Why should people support their local clubs?
Because we’re one of the only pools in the area so we need to support the club so our kids have somewhere to swim!

Dollarphins is Dollar's friendly, non-competitive swimming club for kids — and we have spaces available.

Join us every Wednesday evening from 6pm to 9pm at Dollar Academy swimming pool for lessons, lane swimming, and plenty of fun in a safe, welcoming environment.

Run by local parents, for local kids. No pressure. Just progress.

Kids Swimming Tonight - Road Closure 🚨

Swimming is ON tonight as usual but just a reminder that the road outside the car park of the swimming pool is closed and not accessible from the east. You can however get access from the west side of Manor House Road.

Why do you volunteer❓
I was a swimmer, I have a love of swimming and I’m passionate about helping others.! Speed swimming, synchronised swimming, sub-aqua, diving, waterskiing, open water swimming - you name it I’ve done it.

Where are you from originally? 🏡
Kirkcaldy - where there were no swimming pools and I learned to swim in the harbour!

How long have been in dollar?
25 years!

What’s your favourite holiday destination?
Japan 🇯🇵

What’s your favourite food? 🍫
Chocolate - Lindt

What’s your life advice?
Be healthy, happy and grateful ☺️

I once modelled at Dunhill Golf open and met Bruce Forsyth 😎 🏌️‍♂️

What’s the most important thing in your life?
I’m a mum and a granny - so my daughter and granddaughter ( who’s been swimming since 10 weeks!). I also have two dogs Minnie & Mac who I adore 🐶

What are you working on at the moment?
Really keen to continue to develop Dollarphins to help promote water safety, the learn to swim programme and encouraging volunteers to gain qualifications in life guarding, teaching and coaching! Please support the club where you can and come along on a Monday (adult swimming) and a Wednesday (Kids swimming).

Monday Night Adults Swimming

Julia, our chairperson, has recently had an injury and is using swimming as a great way to recover!

We have adults swimming 6-9pm on a Monday night at Dollar Academy swimming pool. Just turn up and swim for as long as you want!

It costs £5 but we are currently offering free entry to anyone with an injury looking to use swimming as part of their recovery process.
