I enjoyed a really good trip to Peebles in Scotland last week.. We took up an invitation from DBMS (Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland) to attend a trail designers meeting. It was great to see Scottish friends we haven't seen in way too long, including Graeme McLean and a fair turn out from Scottish Cycling and Forestry Scotland. Great discussions and interesting projects that will hopefully continue to raise the standard of design, build and management of trails. The Scottish MTB Strategy was none too shabby either, very impressive... Sadly no time for a quick spin, shame as the trail centre looked in great form. Thanks for the invite Graeme, much appreciated and cheers to Gareth (C4) for the lift 👍

‘’Great news today, we had it confirmed Cartwright Associates, partnering the UK’s leading MTB trail construction company Conservefor Ltd (C4) are on the Forestry Commission England - Mountain Bike Trail Design & Build Framework, in the No.1 spot for the next four years.

We are looking forward to building on the successful relationships we have with the trail managers and volunteers across the FCE estate.

The partnership with C4 is a really exciting development, building on previous track and trail contracts successfully delivered with them since 2012. Working with Gareth and Stuart's professional and ever expanding team at C4, is always reassuring, knowing the detail and effort we put into design is always delivered on the ground.

Very grateful for the opportunity and the fact Forestry Commission England continue to invest in the design, build and maintenance of their trails’’.

Rhayader wants to be the UK’s premier mountain biking hub, and its just taken one giant stride in that direction by opening Pump Track Wales (PTW).
