Wondering what a Beginners' Archery Course look like? Here are a couple of pictures from beginners sessions to give you an idea. We're very relaxed and friendly. There's lots to think about and some important safety rules. We start off showing you how to shoot barebow, and by the end of session 3 you will have added a sight and be shooting further. We go at your pace, so you don't have to worry as everyone needs help to start off with. We have a couple of places left for our autumn beginners course which is 2-5pm on Saturday, 12 September, Sunday 13 September and Saturday 19 September. The course is set over 3 afternoons, and it also gives you the opportunity to shoot with the club archers on Sunday am 20 September. Ditchling is a friendly club and we shoot recurve, barebow, longbow and compound. The course will teach you about the equipment you'll use, the basics of shooting and safety on the range. The course will be held on the Archery Field at Ditchling, the field behind the cricket pitch.
If you complete the 3 sessions you receive a certificate to confirm you've completed your course which makes you eligible to join Ditchling Archery, Archery GB, or any other club where you can improve, enter competitions or to just relax and enjoy a brilliant sport. Find out more about Ditchling Archery Club at: https://ditchlingac.org.uk/ and email: [email protected] if you're interested in signing up for the course, or learning more.
We supply all the equipment for the beginners course and if you wish to join the club after completing the course, you are able to use club equipment until you are ready to progress to your own bow once you have acquired some skills and strength. The cost for the Beginners Course is £75. We look forward to hearing from you but please bear in mind we only have 2 places available.
