On 26th April, 2 of green keepers Rob and Nathan will take on the challenge of the Madrid Marathon—each with very different goals, but united by the same determination to cross the finish line.
For Nathan, this is a serious pursuit. Months of disciplined training, early mornings, and carefully planned nutrition have all been building toward one target: breaking the four-hour barrier. Every mile in Madrid will be paced with precision, every water station approached with strategy. For him, this isn’t just about completing the race—it’s about achieving a personal milestone and proving the results of his hard work. The streets of Madrid will test his endurance, but also reward his commitment. This will be his first Marathon and one he will attempt to break 4 hours.
Rob, on the other hand, brings a different kind of energy to the marathon. While perhaps not chasing a specific time, he has a goal just as pressing—finishing before his flight leaves. With a ticking clock adding an extra layer of urgency, Rob’s run will be a balance of determination, humour, and grit. Whether he’s checking his watch or soaking in the atmosphere, his race will be one to remember.
The Madrid Marathon itself offers a stunning backdrop, with its mix of historic landmarks and vibrant city streets. Both runners will experience the cheers of the crowd, the challenge of the course, and the unique camaraderie that comes with marathon day.
Whether it’s Nathan chasing a sub-four-hour finish or Rob racing against departure time, both journeys highlight what makes marathon running so special. It’s not just about speed—it’s about purpose, perseverance, and the stories created along the way.
