St James's Montefiore is a friendly, lively cricket club based between Keymer and Ditchling, East Sussex - about 6 miles north of Brighton & Hove, Sussex.

We play league cricket in the 1st Central Sussex Cricket League.

A huge congratulations to Dom Ashton, our 2nd XI captain and lead youth coach for being one of the first 12 coaches in Sussex selected for the inaugural Level 2+ Sussex Coaching Badge coaching course that was developed and delivered by Paul Farbrace and the Sussex Men’s coaching team.

The various modules on the course provided in-depth learning on batting, bowling, fielding, wicket-keeping, video analysis, strength-and-conditioning and team management.

A brilliant testament to Dom's hard work and his ability as a coach!

Today is our Charity Cricket Day, in memory of Maggie Smith, one of St James’s female players who sadly lost her battle against cancer.

We have a delayed start time due to the rain this morning.

The bar will be open all day & a burger van onsite. After the cricket games which start at 10 am & finish around 6pm, the raffle draw will take place.

Please come down, watch some cricket and support this worthwhile cause. If you can’t get to the ground, the QR code can be used to make a donation.

Our first competitive game of the season tomorrow as our 1st XI will take on the winner of Ifield vs Burgess Hill in the t20 cup at Burgess Hill, meanwhile a mixed friendly XI will take on a mixed Burgess Hill XI at our wonderful home ground.

Good luck to all involved in the final preparations before the league season kicks off next week!

On Saturday, we are holding our 2nd charity cricket day. The day is in memory of Maggie Smith, one of St James’s female players, who sadly lost her battle against cancer, last year and will raise vital funds for the Sussex Cancer Fund who supported her during her battle.

The bar will be open all day & a burger van onsite. After the cricket games which start at 11am & finish around 6pm the raffle draw and auction will take place.
Current items for the auction include:
* A signed Gordon Banks ‘Save of the Century’ framed picture
* A signed Sussex CC shirt
* A St James’s club logo’d helmet -adult med
* Signed Sussex shirt - un-framed
* Bottle of Macallan Whiskey
* £200 John Lewis Gift card
Some auction item will have a reserve value.

The Sussex Cancer Fund work together with the NHS to help make life better for cancer patients in Sussex – providing equipment and services that make a tangible difference for patients who are often on a difficult and stressful journey. We also selectively fund and enable Sussex based cancer research programs that contribute to the understanding of cancers and improved outcomes for patients.
