Who am I?

My name is Ollie Sykes and I am the owner of OS Sports Massage based in Didcot in Oxfordshire. I have been a qualified Level 3 Sports Massage therapist for two years now. I also hold qualifications in Myofascial Dry Cupping, Kinesiology Taping and Taping and Strapping modalities.

As well as my work within the clinic I work for the Fire Service and I am also the First Team Therapist for Wantage Town FC who are currently in Division 1 of the Hellenic League. I have been involved in football for the last 5 years and have been privileged to have gained a lot of knowledge surrounding sports and general injuries within that time.

How can sports massage help you?

What is myofascial dry cupping and what are the benefits?

Myofascial cupping is a soft tissue therapy where decompressed cups are placed on the on the skin, creating a vacuum effect that lifts up underlying tissues such as the fascia (connective tissue) and muscles, blood and other fluid, close to the surface of the skin. Myofascial cupping can be applied on the back, shoulder, neck, sacrum, hip, abdomen, legs and arms.

The benefits of dry cupping are:

- Increased circulation
- Increases the removal of chemical irritants
- Can help to stretch connective tissues
- Can be used in conjunction with other treatment modalities

I am now able to offer Myofascial Dry Cupping within the clinic as part of treatments.
