Tai Chi classes in Thornhill, Dewsbury for beginners and all levels. This is Li / Lee style Tai Chi as taught by the late grandmaster Chee Soo. Classes are taught by Mark Popplewell who has been practising and teaching Li style Tai Chi since 1981. He is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese art used to maintain and improve health and fitness. It has both Yin and Yang aspects – expect to work hard to attain peace and relaxation, suppleness, balance, confidence and grace. Modern research shows Tai Chi to be of benefit to many conditions including high blood pressure, insomnia, arthritis and type 2 diabetes. Class also includes qigong (Chinese stretching and breathing exericses) and Kai Men (Chinese yoga and meditation). Saturday courses are twice a month where Tai Chi Flying Hand form and tai chi weapons (sword, staff, silk, fan) may also be taught

It is wider than average, so great for patients of all shapes and sizes. See photos for how much weight it will take. It is operated by electricity, simply plug it in and use the foot pedal board to lower the couch up or down so patients can get on and off it with ease.

🌍💭 What if the world isn’t getting calmer… but you are?

“To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders.” - Lao Tzu

Life doesn’t slow down. Stress, noise, and chaos will always be there.
But when your mind is balanced… they lose their power over you.

Like a perfectly still lake reflecting a quiet island at night, peace isn’t found by changing the world. It’s found by steadying yourself within it.

When the mind is calm, stress doesn’t stick. It passes… like ripples that never disturb the depths.

💭 Find your balance. Protect your peace.

👇 How has Tai Chi helped you stay grounded when life gets overwhelming?
