How to win a Dragonball from another player:

- To take possession, you pull the other player’s Dragon Tail. Both players stop on the spot.

- The player who pulled the tail exchanges it for the Dragonball and re-enters the game.

- The player whose tail was removed holds it in the air and calls for help from their team.

- A teammate comes over and reattaches the tail so they can jump straight back into play.

No tackling. No blocking. No contact.

🔥 How to Play Dragonball Sport! 🔥

If you’ve seen the excitement in our Dragonball sessions and wondered “How does this game actually work?” - here are the simple, fast, inclusive rules that make Dragonball such a hit in schools:

🏐 1. Keep the ball moving
Players pass, throw, roll, or bounce the Dragonballs to teammates. The aim is constant movement, teamwork, and quick decision‑making.

🎯 2. Get goals to score
Teams score by getting a Dragonball into the opposition’s goal. Everyone plays, everyone contributes. When all 7 Dragonballs are in the goals the game ends, the score is counted, the pitch is reset and the game starts again.

🚫 3. No tackling, no blocking, no contact
Dragonball is a non‑contact sport. Players defend by intercepting passes, reading the game, and using smart positioning - not physical force. Using Dragon Tails encourages a polite exchange, a Dragonball for the tail.

🔄 4. If you’re hit by a ball, you’re not “out”
Dragonball keeps everyone in the game. No sitting out. No elimination. Full inclusion. Just remember, you can't re-attach your own tail!

🤝 5. Communication is key
Teams must talk, plan, and support each other. Dragonball builds confidence, teamwork, and social skills as much as physical ability.

💥 Fast.
💥 Inclusive.
💥 Easy to learn.
💥 Brilliant for physical literacy and whole‑school wellbeing.

Thank you High Peak School & Sport Partnership for choosing Dragonball Sport and Sammy Rambles and the Floating Circus for your schools.

📚🐉 A very exciting delivery has arrived at HPSSP! 🐉📚Dawn has just taken delivery of copies of Sammy Rambles and the Floating Circus by J Scott – with a copy heading out to every primary school across our partnership ready for next academic year.

This is much more than a book giveaway. It forms part of an exciting new project that will combine literacy, imagination, physical activity and wellbeing, helping children bring stories to life through movement and play.

Within the story, readers are introduced to the exciting game of Dragonball. To bring the story off the page and into schools, we will be offering Dragonball training for teachers and teaching assistants, giving staff the confidence, skills and resources to deliver the game within their own settings.

Following the staff training, pupils will have the opportunity to learn and play Dragonball in school before coming together for a fun, inclusive Dragonball Festival, which will feature as part of our 2025/26 events calendar.

Through this project we hope to:

✨ Inspire a love of reading and storytelling
✨ Connect literacy with physical activity
✨ Develop teamwork, communication and confidence
✨ Encourage active learning and creativity
✨ Create memorable experiences that engage all pupils

We’re really excited to launch this new initiative and can’t wait to see schools across the High Peak embracing Sammy’s adventures both in the classroom and on the playground. 📖⚡🐲

⭐ Top 5 Reasons to Choose Dragonball Sport

1. It’s instantly inclusive - every child can succeed
Dragonball is designed so all pupils can take part confidently, regardless of ability, confidence level, SEN needs, or sporting experience. No child is left on the sidelines, and everyone feels part of the team.

2. It boosts physical literacy without pupils realising they’re “working”
Throwing, catching, dodging, tracking, reacting - Dragonball builds core movement skills in a fast, joyful, low‑pressure environment. Children stay active for the entire session, not just in short bursts.

3. It transforms behaviour, teamwork, and classroom readiness
Teachers consistently report calmer transitions, improved focus, and better teamwork after Dragonball sessions. The game naturally encourages communication, resilience, and positive social interaction.

4. It’s easy for staff to deliver with Dragonball Coaching CPD
Schools love that teachers can learn the game quickly and confidently. CPD gives staff the tools to run Dragonball independently, making it a sustainable, long‑term addition to PE, clubs, and wellbeing days.

5. It creates whole‑school impact - from EYFS to Year 6
Dragonball adapts beautifully for every age group. Whether it’s a 20‑minute energiser, a full PE lesson, or a whole‑school activity day, it brings energy, excitement, and a shared sense of achievement.
