🔴⚪ CUP DRAMA | THROUGH ON PENALTIES! ⚽

Devizes Town FC Reserves 3-3 Park Utd FC
Devizes win 4-3 on penalties!

What a night of cup football! A rollercoaster of a game that had everything, and ultimately one man to thank for getting us into the next round!

We found ourselves 1-0 up somewhat against the run of play through a composed finish from Kory Wildman. From there, we settled into the game, took control and created a few opportunities, but a set-piece goal from Park Utd saw the sides go into the break level at 1-1.

We started the second half brightly and once again looked in control, but another set-piece goal saw us fall behind at 2-1.

However, we responded almost immediately. Some excellent work from Casper down the flank saw him deliver a dangerous ball into the box, where our talisman Harvey Swain was on hand to prod home and restore parity.

Unfortunately, a mistake at the back following a long punt forward allowed Park Utd to regain the lead with just 15 minutes remaining.

The game became increasingly scrappy, with neither side managing to create much until a late flurry of pressure from Devizes. A fantastic save from the Park Utd goalkeeper kept them in front before we won three consecutive corners.

And with the third, the ball was cleared to the edge of the box, where it fell to THAT MAN AGAIN, HARVEY SWAIN! He shifted the ball onto his right foot and absolutely smashed it through a crowd of bodies and into the back of the net to make it 3-3!

Penalties it was!

The shootout was all about one man... OUR CAPTAIN AND NUMBER ONE, JACK CROSS! 🧤

Despite our own penalties leaving a little to be desired, Jack was absolutely outstanding, producing FOUR saves from seven Park Utd penalties. His fourth and decisive save secured a 4-3 penalty shootout victory and booked our place in the next round!

A huge result for the lads, showing real character to come from behind on three occasions and find a way through.

👏 Goals: Kory Wildman, Harvey Swain (2)

🧤 Hero of the night: Jack Cross – 4 penalty saves!

🔴⚪ ON TO THE NEXT ROUND!

🔴⚪ FULL TIME | CUP RESULT

A disappointing afternoon for the lads as we exit the Fountain Trophies Senior KO Cup with a 1-0 defeat away to Kintbury Rangers FC Reserves.

Unfortunately, it was a below-par performance from us, falling short of the standards we've set in recent games. We know we're capable of much better, and we'll be looking to put things right when we return to cup action on Tuesday against Park United in the Wiltshire Senior Cup.

Credit to Kintbury, and all the best to them in the next round.

We go again. 💪

🔴⚪ FULL TIME | BRADFORD TOWN FC RESERVES 0-2 DEVIZES TOWN FC RESERVES

A hard-fought three points on a difficult pitch in challenging conditions, with Storm Austin certainly playing its part! 🌧️💨

The first half was a frustrating affair, with neither side able to find a breakthrough as we went into the break at 0-0.

After missing a few chances, we finally broke the deadlock through a bullet header from Kory Wildman, who met yet another superb delivery from Logan Anning. 🎯💥

Pushing for the second, we continued to control proceedings and restricted Bradford to long-range efforts. Our persistence paid off, and what a goal it was! 🤯🔥

Following a cleared corner, the ball fell to Eoin O’Grady, who flicked it over a defender just inside the box before unleashing an outrageous volley over the goalkeeper and into the top bins!

A moment of pure magic. The sort of goal that leaves everyone watching gasping in disbelief. Unfortunately, there's no footage to do it justice, but think Marco van Basten-esque! 🚀🔥🔥

A massive shout-out to veteran Matty Penfold, who came out of Wiltshire League retirement to don the gloves. Alongside a solid back four, he helped secure a thoroughly deserved clean sheet! 🧤👏

⭐ MAN OF THE MATCH: EOIN O’GRADY ⭐

No surprises here after that moment of absolute magic! What a way to seal the win. 🏆🔥

A superb result in difficult conditions. Three points, two goals and a clean sheet!

A superb three points for the lads after an excellent all-round performance against a tough Trowbridge side! 💪

The first half was outstanding, with Town taking a deserved 3-0 lead into the break. Joe Beaven opened the scoring on 29 minutes, finishing off a superb Kieran Balchin cross before the in-form Harvey Swain struck twice in the space of just four minutes to put us firmly in control! 🔥

The second half was a more open affair, with both sides having half-chances before Trowbridge produced a superb individual goal to give themselves a glimmer of hope.

However, Town had the final say! Returning to the starting XI for the first time in over a year, Logan Anning delivered an excellent in-swinging free kick which fell perfectly for Eoin O'Grady to slot home at the far post and seal all three points! 👏

Another fantastic performance from everyone in the squad, showing quality, determination and togetherness throughout.

🏆 POTM: Morgan Selemani-Parker

Chosen by our match sponsor C.G Electrics, Morgan was outstanding at the back, putting in a superb defensive performance against a tough opponent. Fully deserved! 👏

**FULL TIME | ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT FC 2-3 DEVIZES TOWN FC**

WHAT A WIN! 🔴⚪️

A dramatic 93rd-minute winner secured all three points for the Town after a hard-fought encounter against Royal Wootton Bassett FC!

Bassett gave us the runaround in the opening 10 minutes and deservedly took the lead with their first shot of the game. However, a change in formation completely changed the game, and we looked a different outfit. We started winning duels all over the pitch and created several chances, only to be denied by some excellent saves from the Bassett goalkeeper.

Our pressure eventually paid off when Kory Wildman, who was a menace throughout, was fouled inside the box. Sir Eoin O'Grady stepped up and calmly dispatched the penalty to make it 1-1 at half-time.

The second half continued in a similar fashion, with the Town in control and looking the more likely to score. Some great work from Joe Beaven sent the in-form Harvey Swain through on goal, and he made no mistake to put us 2-1 ahead.

Moments later, Bassett were back on level terms with an equaliser that looked very close to offside, but the goal stood. Both sides had further opportunities, with Bassett hitting the crossbar after we'd missed a couple of chances of our own.

As the game entered injury time, it looked like we'd have to settle for a point. But this Town side had other ideas!

A delightful free-kick from Eoin O'Grady was met perfectly by Harvey Swain, who cleverly looped his header over the onrushing goalkeeper to send the Town players, staff and supporters into celebration with a **93rd-minute winner!** 🤩

A fully deserved three points after a superb team effort, with everyone contributing both on and off the pitch. The character, determination and togetherness shown by the lads were there for all to see.

⭐ **MAN OF THE MATCH: KORY WILDMAN**

An outstanding performance from Kory, who was a constant threat throughout and led by example in a hard-fought contest.

Three goals, three points and a late winner. What a way to finish!
