FITCAMP WEEKEND ADVENTURE โ SCAFELL PIKE โฐ๏ธ๐ฅ
What a weekend.
A few days away with the team that had everything โ laughter, good food, navigation, a few drinks and one seriously epic adventure in the Lake District.
Friday morning we loaded up the minibus (with absolutely elite air con ๐๐ฝ) and headed north to our airbnb in Whitehaven. Our first stop at the services felt like stepping off a plane into holiday heat โ summer had definitely arrived.
After settling in and stocking up on supplies, Jenni treated us to an unreal homemade spaghetti bolognese before an evening of wine, plenty of laughs, a fiercely competitive game of Articulate and a quick brief for the challenge ahead.
Saturday was what we came for.
An early start with breakfast sorted โ sausage and egg sandwiches for some, Greek yoghurt, fruit and berries for others โ and then we headed to Scafell Pike.
Starting at Wasdale Head, we took on the Corridor Route clockwise, with each member of the team taking responsibility for navigating a leg of the route. It turned the day into far more than just a walk โ it became a proper team challenge. Everyone stepped up.
Navigation was excellent, confidence grew throughout the day and seeing people trust themselves and lead sections of the route was brilliant to watch. Well done Nic for being awarded best navigator๐๐ฝshe showed true leadership qualities in helping others with their leg!
Navigation legs:
1- Jad โ Wasdale Head Car Park
2 - Neil
3 - Will
4 - Lucie & Nic
5 - Jenni & Emma โ Summit
6 - Becki
7 - Claire โ Return to Wasdale Head
The weather gave us perfect walking conditions โ cooler than the heatwave back home โ and despite plenty of stops (including lunch at the summit), we completed the route in around 7 hours.
The summit reminded us who was in charge.
Strong winds, low cloud and mist rolled in, visibility droppedโฆ but somehow that made it even better. That feeling of standing on Englandโs highest mountain together after earning every step is hard to beat.
For a few of the team this was their first mountain hike too โ a massive achievement and one they should be proud of.
After the descent it was straight back to get changed before heading out for an incredible team meal, followed by drinks back at the house and watching England finish the day with a 2โ0 win ๐ช๐ฝ
Sunday was time to head home โ tired legs but full batteries.
Weekends like this remind you that Fitcamp is about more than training. Itโs about challenge, shared experiences, stepping outside comfort zones and building great friendships.
Proud of every single person.
Already excited for the next adventureโฆ
Ben Nevisโฆ weโre coming for you ๐๐ฝ๐๏ธ
