Wow, what an amazing day! 🎯

On Sunday, we held our annual Albion, St. George, and Windsor Tournament. While the weather stayed dry, it was overcast and incredibly windy! That challenging breeze persisted all day, but it was no match for our hardy archers. Everyone shot brilliantly, with a few even claiming new County records! 🏆

A massive shoutout to Helen, our judge for the day, who did a fantastic job keeping everyone in order with plenty of humor and style.
One of the best parts of the day was winding down together afterward. While waiting for the final results, everyone got to relax with a well-deserved cup of tea and a complimentary, homemade scone topped with cream and jam. ☕🍰

A Huge Thank You!
Tournaments like this simply cannot happen without the incredible team at our club. From the weeks of preparation to the volunteers, and competitors, who helped move equipment, baked delicious scones, cookies and shortbread and run the day smoothly—you are the backbone of this event.

In particular, a massive thank you goes to:
Martin, Caroline, Gary, Kyle, Pete, Helen, Sam, Liza, Carl, Rose, and Bella. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable, successful day! Congratulations to everyone who won medals. Let's do it again next year!

Caswell Round One Shoot Report – 3rd May 2026
WA1440 Round

It was an early start, with cold, windy conditions and the threat of rain looming.

The strong winds made the longer-distance rounds particularly challenging, disrupting scores across the field. Despite overcast skies throughout the morning session, the rain thankfully held off.

By the halfway point, everyone was performing well considering the conditions, although some archers experienced more difficult morning sessions than others.

In the afternoon, the wind eased slightly and shifted direction, making the shorter distances and smaller targets a bit more manageable. By mid-afternoon, the weather had improved further, with lighter winds and even some sunshine to close out the day.

The team of five delivered an excellent set of results:
Peter Radliffe – Silver, 50+ Open Compound
Anita Lane – Gold, 50+ Women’s Recurve
Toby Radliffe – Silver, Senior Barebow
Chris Tungate – Gold, Senior Open Recurve (winning by just 2 points in the closest match of the day)
Scott Collins – Gold, 50+ Flatbow

Five members, five medals — a great return from a long but rewarding day.
