🏅 Everyone at Churchill United Football Club would like to congratulate former player, manager, and current committee member Stewart Smallwoods on being awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in His Majesty The King’s Birthday Honours List for services to local football.

This is a fantastic achievement and a richly deserved recognition of the countless hours Stewart has dedicated to football over many years. In particular the impact on Churchill over a prolonged period of time both on and off the pitch.

After a fantastic campaign that saw us secure promotion and lift the league title, the success achieved this season has only whetted the appetite for even more in the years ahead.

Match Result – NWJL Division 2 🏆

🔵⚪️ Churchill Utd 5-3 Roe Valley 🔵🟡

Churchill welcomed Roe Valley for the final league game of the season, looking to finish the campaign on a high.

Roe Valley showed they were not just there to make up the numbers and took advantage of a disjointed Churchill start to open the scoring.

Churchill gradually grew into the game and found an equaliser through Jordan Stewart. Just two minutes later, Stephen Mills finished off a good move to complete the turnaround and make it 2-1.

Okan Mills then added a third with his first of the afternoon. It should have been 4-1 shortly after, but Stephen Mills somehow saw a goal ruled out for offside.

HT: Churchill Utd 3-1 Roe Valley

Churchill started the second half quickly, with Okan Mills grabbing his second after getting on the end of a free-kick delivery that somehow squeezed underneath the keeper.

Roe Valley continued to battle and pulled one back to make it 4-2, but Okan Mills completed his hat-trick after an excellent delivery from Jack Chambers was met by the head of Mills.

Roe Valley added the final goal of the game late on to leave the score at 5-3. Credit to Roe Valley for the guard of honour and for providing a highly competitive game to end the season.

After securing the league title a number of weeks ago, Churchill finally got their hands on the NWJL Division 2 trophy 🏆

A fantastic league campaign saw Churchill win 23 of their 24 matches, the one defeat still hurts 😢 scoring 152 league goals and finishing with a goal difference of +120 with goals contributed from almost everyone in the squad. Promotion secured, league winners crowned, and strong cup runs alongside it — just the beginning of what this team can achieve 👌

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the season. End-of-season awards will be in the coming weeks.

🔵⚪️ Match Preview – NWJL Division 2 🏆

After the disappointment of Wednesday night, the boys will be looking to finish the season on a high as we welcome Roe Valley for our final league game of the campaign.

Despite the disappointment of Wednesday, It has been a very good season for Churchill Utd, securing promotion and being crowned NWJL Division 2 champions, alongside an excellent run in the Matt Morrison Cup.

Tomorrow we finally get our hands on the NWJL Division 2 trophy to cap off the season.
