Dear Sports Club/Colleague/Student,
We are pleased to invite you to the Sport for the Planet Conference: Delivering Sustainability in Sport, taking place on 6 October, from 9:30am to 3:30pm at the Guildhall, Derry~Londonderry.
This free event will bring together representatives from across the sporting, education, community and sustainability sectors to explore how sport can play a practical role in responding to climate change, developing green skills and supporting healthier, more resilient communities.
The conference will include contributions from sustainability leads at:
Golf Ireland
GAA
Croke Park
Derry City FC
Other Panellists from a range of other sports also confirmed.
Panel discussions will focus on:
Greening the Game: Sustainable Venues and Infrastructure
People, Skills and the Green Sports Economy
Sport, Climate Resilience and Community Wellbeing
The event will provide an opportunity to hear practical examples, share learning and consider how clubs, venues, organisations and communities can embed sustainability within sport. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
The conference is organised by North West Regional College, in partnership with Derry City and Strabane District Council, as part of the PEACEPLUS Green Clubs programme, funded by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
