Better late than never...our Waveney Valley results!
Competing Sunday and Monday, Waveney had the weather against them with a heatwave however did their best to accommodate and keep the event running smoothly.
Sunday saw Flora take to the lanes for the first time this year in Singles and surprised us all with clean runs and no chasing! She got 2nd place in Div 2.
Daisy and Raven made their debut in League by pairing up and they showed us how ready they were. With only a couple of run outs from Daisy, they were a fantastic pair and secured 1st place in Div 4!
FnF Fury took to the lanes for a 2nd time and after working on some niggles from the first comp together, they pulled off some tight passes and mostly clean runs! Placed in Div 1, they came away with 2nd place! Our new team Personal Best is 18.12s! With some more practice, the 17s aren’t far.
Baby of the team, Rosie, made her 1st appearance at a comp and showed us her potential during Lawn Time. Forgetting to put in the trigger stopper, Rosie was turning, catching the ball and completing all jumps with no assistance! For a young pup, there’s more to come.
Bertie also had some Lawn Time which was a warm up for his Starters Single the following day. Apart from deciding he now wishes to turn the opposite way, he worked hard on his concentration and kept us all on our toes.
Arlo & Enzo shared a lane in Lawn Time and showed us how well they can work together. With them finding it too distracting before when even in the ring at the same time, the brothers loved working together.
Skye & Bimını were practicing their runs in Lawn Time ready for Starters Pairs on Monday and were working more confidently with each other in passing. They did a fab job.
With the heatwave, racing was cancelled at midday but luckily all the attending dogs had some time in the ring. With the following day scheduled to be even warmer, the team made the decision to withdraw on the Monday.
Waveney did their best to navigate the racing with the odds stacked against them and kept us informed of all decisions to ensure things were as smooth as they could be. Thank you to Waveney for a lovely day and atmosphere. And to South Downs Lightning Flyball Club for letting us borrow your box!
