A huge THANK YOU to the incredible team at SVK Financial for not only volunteering with us at our recent school visit, but for their amazing generosity and belief in what we do 💚

We are so incredibly grateful for your support in sponsoring this visit and helping us bring the countryside into the heart of Derby city, giving children the opportunity to connect with animals, learn about farming, and understand where their food comes from.

Having your team there, getting fully involved, helping hands-on and sharing in the children’s excitement meant so much. Seeing over 250 children experience everything from lambing and sheep shearing to goat milking and meeting the animals was truly special 🐑🐐

But your kindness didn’t stop there…

SVK Financial have also generously donated 21 pairs of wellies to help children access outdoor learning experiences — something that will make such a real difference to families who may otherwise struggle to take part. We truly believe every child deserves the chance to muddy their boots, connect with nature, and experience the countryside, and your support helps make that possible.

Partnerships like this show what can happen when local businesses and community organisations come together to create opportunities for children ❤️

🎉 Got a child who loves to hobby horse? On a farm surround by animals? Whilst making new friends? And getting fit at the same time? And FOR FREE? Then our hobby horse fitness groups are for you!! 🎉

Every Tuesday we run two hobby horse fitness groups. And because we have some amazing funding from sports England we can offer these for FREE! From 1pm-4pm is our home ed/SEND sessions where parents stay. Or we have our 4pm-7pm drop off sessions 😁 we have had some wonderful feedback so far and can't wait to have you come along. Well our hobby horse fitness session this evening certainly got into the team spirit with a touch of rivalry competition, as the children learnt the game horse ball...they had to learn the rules of the game and how to use their hobby horse in one hand and pass the ball with the other. We had so much fun that no one wanted the game to finish!

We are so thankful to sports England for funding meaning we can hold these sessions for free. Anyone who wants to join on next week we have our home ed one from 1pm-4pm and then our evening group from 4pm-7pm :D

Our SEND Tuesday group had a very productive session this morning building our new sandpit! We also had a very interesting show of how we sheer the sheep. The children enjoyed lots of snuggles with the animals and watched our cheeky goat running around! Another fabulous session full of fun 😁

Another Wonderful Wednesday on the farm today. We groomed the ponies and used sticky labels to label the various points on the ponies. We then planted more rainbow carrot seeds and once they're grown we can see which colour the ponies prefer!
There was lots and lots of fun had in the mud kitchen! The imagination through play is amazing to watch 🥰

Today in Hobby Horse Fitness we tackled cross country! 🐎💨

We learnt all about the different styles of cross country jumps and loved the fast pace of it all! From jumping logs, shark’s teeth, ditches and coffins to tackling a variety of tricky combinations, everyone gave it a go and had lots of fun along the way.

Who knew hobby horses could take on such a challenging course? 😍

Next week we’ll be taking on even more exciting challenges… stay tuned! 👀

Today was a slightly soggy SEND Tuesday 🌧️💚

We spent the morning grooming the ponies while the rain came down, followed by lots of time in the mud kitchens and imagination station, where creativity was in full swing!

We also got messy with mud paintings, had lots of cuddles with the chicks (they are growing so fast 🐥) and planted some rainbow carrot seeds 🥕 Did you know carrots were not always orange?

Once they have grown, we are going to do a little experiment to see which colours the ponies prefer… any guesses? 🌈🐴
