My name is Paul Harris, and I am raising funds for the Royal Derby Hospital Renal Dialysis Unit Holiday Caravan Fund.
As an avid clay pigeon shooter, I regularly visit the Darley Dale Clay Pigeon Shooting Club, which Neil Davison was a core member. Sadly, Neil passed away two years ago from renal failure. During his illness, Neil spent a significant amount of time undergoing dialysis at the Derby Renal Unit in Derby. The only time he was able to get away for a break was to visit the holiday caravan in Wales.
Dialysis patients require treatment three times a week for the rest of their lives, making a holiday extremely difficult—if not nearly impossible to arrange.
The Derby Renal dialysis Unit offers a unique resource: a specialised dialysis caravan located at a coastal park in Caernarfon, Wales. This allows patients and their families to enjoy a much-needed break while receiving care from the staff they know and trust.
However, the existing caravan is aging and urgently needs to be replaced. A new caravan costs approximately £75,000, a cost that the NHS cannot cover. Without this funding, patients risk losing a service that means the world to them. Thanks to generous donors, the total raised so far is just under £59,000, but there is still a way to go.
To support this cause, I am taking on a challenge on 11 October 2026. I will be shooting a full round of 75 clays at the Darley Dale Clay Shooting ground—wearing nothing but a mankini. Given the time of year, weather conditions at the shooting ground this could mean facing rain, snow, or high winds. The round will take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.
My goal is to raise £1,000 through GoFundMe page to help push the fund closer to its £75,000 target. Every donation, no matter how little, will make a meaningful difference for the patients and families who rely on this caravan. Please consider donating and sharing the page to support the Derby Renal Caravan Fund.

Thank you
