PRICE INCREASE
Just to let you all know that we have had to make the difficult decision to increase our entry fees by £1 across all 75 bird entries. This will change from the 12th July, so it’ll be £24 for members, £28 non-members and £15 for juniors. The Sportrap entries will remain the same at £10 per entry. It’s not been an easy decision for us but the cost of clays, trap replacement parts, cartridge waste removal, ground rent and insurance etc have significantly increased in recent times.
We don’t like to increase our entry fees but I’m afraid we need to at this current time in order to keep the current guaranteed prize fund at each 75 Bird Shoot at £450 and to maintain the high levels of a well managed shoot at our shooting ground.
Some of you may not know but each trap gets fully stripped down, serviced, worn parts replaced etc every three months in order to keep breakdowns/clay breakages to a minimum. We believe we do have a good track record of few breakdowns etc., and when things do go wrong we are very responsive to deal with them. Our SOS radios do help us and or F.A.R.T’s (Fast Action Response Team) are on hand to deal with anything 🤣.
We have been noticing that the number of clays that we order does not marry up to the number of clays used for entries. We know why this occurs, it’s because of us setting up the shoot, breakages (which are very few at our shoot), but where we find the biggest issue is where shooters are viewing clays before going into the cage to shoot them. We understand that you need to ‘see a pair’ before commencing shooting, but when some shooters see four or five pairs before going into the cage to shoot, we feel this is a little extreme and unfair to other shooters. You wouldn’t be allowed to do this at registered shoots where they have markers. We believe we have dealt with this now but we can’t police everything that goes off at the shoot so all we ask is that you all be considerate towards the costs of running a shoot and help us out accordingly, and also by letting us know of any situations you might see like this.
We hope you understand and support us all going forward.
Thanks from the DDCPSC committee.
That's it for now a bit of a long one but I'll see you all at our next shoot on the 28 June 2026
Cheers Kevin
