2025 CRMC race season.
To summarise it didn't go to plan and was a challenge. That is nothing against Dazlin and the package he supplied, it was my riding that wasn't on a level I expect from myself. The TZ ride was a different story all together, and I'll leave it at that.
Some highlights include:
- Opening round at Mallory where the 600 racing was very close and super competitive
- Solid first outing on the TZ350 even with a snapped frame
- Experiencing a TZ350 engine, what a thing that is.
- Lydden hill first time there and I really enjoyed that weekend
- Riding a Ducati 748 at Anglesey
- Being in the CRMC paddock with Dazlin, Mark, Zoe, Joe and the DD racing crew was always mint.
- BHR Darley where we turned up and showed really good pace in the wet.
I have struggled all season with front end feel on the Steelie and ended up over riding her which has led to a fair few crashes. Heavy braking and corner entry is my strength, so it really pickled the old noggin.
I have taken a bit of a break to step back and evaluate in my head where I want to take this hobby.
Nothing is fully confirmed yet but my thoughts are leaning towards getting back on a CB500 and racing with clubs where I can race both the CB and Steelie. So I'm likely to do EMRA/Darley/Aintree/3 sisters.
These are one day meetings which I really enjoy, and the racing I had at EMRA on the CB500 in '23 was the best racing I've been involved in.
I've taken this hobby far too seriously for the last few years and really gave it a good go to be a success in club racing, but I've likely put too much pressure on my shoulders. It's supposed to be enjoyable as well as competitive... Couple that with a few personal issues away from racing and it all adds up.
Time to get the fun back, continue to hone the craft and let whatever be what will be.
