There’s a real sense of satisfaction knowing our first cut is finally complete. 🌾

What a busy day it’s been, but late this evening we got the job finished.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to help. Your hard work and support are hugely appreciated. It’s reassuring to know we have plenty of food put away for the horses this winter.

We’ve doubled, if not tripled, the number of bales compared to last year. A final count is still to be done, but we’re incredibly pleased with how it’s turned out.

Now for a well-earned rest! 🚜🐴

☀️ Polework Clinic Cancellation – 28th June ☀️

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing heatwave and with horse and rider welfare being my priority, I have made the decision to cancel this Sunday’s Polework Clinic at Derby College Equestrian Centre.

Whilst temperatures are forecast to drop slightly by the weekend, conditions are still not ideal for asking horses to travel and work unnecessarily in the heat.

All bookings will automatically be transferred to our next clinic on 25th July in the outdoor arena at Derby College, with riders remaining in the same time slot as their 28th June booking.

If you would prefer a refund instead, please contact me directly.

Thank you for your understanding. I look forward to seeing everyone on 25th July for some creative, fun and engaging polework exercises.

Whether it’s confidence building, fitness work, hacking support, schooling, polework, or coaching, my aim is always the same – to help you and your horse get the very best from each other and enjoy your time together.

This big lad tries so hard in every session and is a real pleasure to ride. Here is a glimpse of our session from today.

We regularly incorporate polework into our training to keep him engaged, thinking, and enjoying his work. Recently we’ve started introducing exercises to improve the quality of his canter, including counter canter. It’s a little untidy at times while he learns the concept, but once established it will be invaluable in developing a more balanced, straight, and correct canter.

We’re beginning to see some positive physical changes too, with condition improving and that excess fat gradually being replaced by muscle as his workload and strength increase.

He’s an absolute pleasure to have on board, and I’m thoroughly enjoying being part of his journey for his owner.

And there’s more excitement to come… we have a new recruit joining the CM SportHorses journey very soon. 👀🐴✨
