Dunipace WPL celebrated last seasons awards night last night. A bit late ( we know🤣) however we wanted to share the awards with the clubs Xmas night out.

The guys all had a great laugh, and we have no doubt a few of the boys will be nursing sore heads today.

The winners are as follows... Joe Jenkins took the players player of the year award.

Bruce Blackhall was awarded the coaches player of the year award.

William Valentine won the player of the year award.

Steven Reynolds won most improved player of the year.

Jason Paul Tasker won the top goalscorer award.

We also handed out a very special award to a very special guy. George Mills was awarded the clubs Lifetime member award for his services to the team.

All in all, the guys had a great night, and we push forward as we move into the 2nd half of the season..

So we’ve played our last game of 2023… it’s been a year of highs and lows for Dunipace WPL (formerly Ava FC).

We started the year with an incredible unbeaten run that spanned from January to April I think it was. We were on fire, what a team! All good things come to an end and inevitably the unbeated run did as well but as a unit we enjoyed that immensely.

We finished 4th in the league which was an incredible achievement for all involved and one which we will, no doubt, tell the grandkids about.

We started the new season with a few new signings and hungry to build on the success of season 1 but for one reason or another we didn’t hit the ground running as planned.

We parted company with our manager and founder as we joined forces with our now parent club Dunipace FC, a partnership which we are sure will prove to be beneficial to all parties involved as we support each other and will celebrate each other’s successes and support each other during the harder times.

We have big plans for 2024, new recruits coming in, hoping to go on a good winning run in the league and we’re also excited to have entered into the Heavyw8s tournament for the first time which will be great for the guys who haven’t had as much game time which in turn will get them upto prime fitness for the 11 a side team so we are looking forward to that.

All that’s left then is to thank all our fans and followers for your continued support on our journey. I’ll never get tired of telling you how much we appreciate you all and look forward to seeing you in the new year.

We have our team night out next weekend and I dare say there may be a few pictures make their way onto the page when the boys are all well oiled and in party mode.
